JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Another decent start for Phil Hughes last night …. without any run support. It’s a pity that he is 0-4. He hasn’t pitched perfectly but he deserves better than this. I know King Felix is hard to hit but the Twins need to warm up those bats! It’s cliché but I’m thinking that they need to bring in a chicken or two – seems to me this would be a good task for Kennys Vargas. The Mariners improved their record to 7-9. After tonight’s game, I want to see both the Twins and the Mariners at 7-10. The Twins will put the ball in the hands of Trevor May. Trevor is from Kelso, Washington. Kelso is south of Seattle – almost on the Oregon border but he should have a lot of hometown support. The original inhabitants of the Kelso area were members of the Cowlitz tribe. I’m sure that’s the origin of the term “cowlick” and I’m sure Trevor has a cowlick or two somewhere in that head of hair. Trevor won his start last Sunday, 7-2 against the Indians to even his record at 1-1. He was able to fuel up on his favorite sushi so I’m looking for another good start tonight. Maybe he can feed the bats sushi to try to liven them up. The Twins face lefty James Paxton who is 0-1 with an 8.40 ERA after 3 starts. His last start was Sunday against the Rangers where he went only 2 2/3 innings, giving up 10 hits and 7 runs. BUT the Mariners went on to win that game 11-10, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the win. Nelson Cruz was the hero of the game with 2 HR and the winning single. Maybe the Twins could steal his bats. Tonight’s game starts at 8:10 CDT. It is “Hisashi Iwakuma Bear Hat” night so look for a lot of little bears in the stands (bears, not beers – although there will probably be lots of both). Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 We should find a better 25th man than Nunez, how 'bout Pinto.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 I saw someone (Berardino, I think) say Pinto could fill "emergency catcher" duties if called up. Has he been reduced to emergencies? Is Suzuki an iron man?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Sure, a nice pitchers duel is nice to see as a fan (last evening). But, the Twins offense has been dormant to say the least. I want to see the Twin's offense erupt tonight!

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 "It’s a pity that he is 0-4. He hasn’t pitched perfectly but he deserves better than this." Get use to it. Hughes is a good, solid pitcher. And like so many before him, only in the Twins world is he an Ace. He'll be facing the top pitcher on almost all starts and the Twins bats will not be able to catchup with real Aces. Pinto should not be called up unless he's the starter. Sitting on the bench will do no good. But fear not: the Twins will be out of it way before July 4 and there will always be teams looking for a catcher. Suzuki is still marketable.

HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 There's a "Eduardo-in-the-Outfield" alert for tonight's gameOwnership should strap Terry Ryan into a Twins uniform and make him play the outfield. Let him feel what stupid feels like
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 I think Pinto caught today for ROC and I think he got hit by a bat (again).
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 "... they need to bring in a chicken or two" The turkeys did fine by us in the game thread. Is there chain one would recommend for chickens? Anyway, yeah, i hope we can hit Baxter perhaps a little better than Felix...
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 . What happens if there's a pop up between them, and Dozier yells, EDUARDO EDUARDO !!! Eduardo catches it, one hopes.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Nice job JB! Enjoy the game everyone. I'm going to take in some live baseball, AZ-Cal.

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Is there chain one would recommend for chickens?I believe a live rooster is required, so Popeye's probably can't be the supplier.

NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Over the last few years, whenever the Twins play here, they always lose the games that I attend and win the games I don't. As much as it hurts, I've finally accepted the fact that I'm a bad luck charm. So after cursing them once again with my presence last night, I promise to stay home the next two games.

Blake Verified Member Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I hope Mr. May builds on his last start. Although, considering the outfield defense, May may very well have an outfield that demolishes whatever he's built.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 We should find a better 25th man than Nunez, how 'bout Pinto. Speaking of, have you checked who leads the Twins in OPS? Or whether the collective Twins' OPS is higher than Punto's career OPS? just sayin'Nunez is not the problem here.
