Game Thread: Twins @ Tigers, 4/8 @ 12:08pm CT

[OldTimeTwinkie]

13 innings and not one run I guess we don't need our best hitter in spring training. FREE ESCOBAR

[sampleSizeOfOne]

If you're here simply to laugh out loud when bad things are happening to the Twins, you'll be invited to re-seat yourself in the thread for the home team fans.

We typically don't do the negative stuff on the Game Thread.

Posting negative here will be like Will Ferrell Running down the Street in "Old School".

What about double negatives? (and i feel inadequate, as i don't think i've seen "Old School". I am familiar with Will Farrell, so i can extrapolate somewhat.))

[curt1965]

Good "D" from our outfielders!

[twinscowboysbulls]

Ricky Nolasco still sucks

This has been your Ricky Nolasco update.

Keep it positive please. We don't do the negative here.

[Mike Sixel]

So much for my prediction.......

most positive thing I can think about our SP today....Nolasco is cool to say, or, ricky makes me think of ricky ricardo.....

[ashbury]

Schafer WTF!

[gocgo]

Good thing my kid is in school.  If he watched this, I'm afraid it would rub off on him.

This Works... You can be Negative as long as you do it like Chevy Chase.

I chalk these two games up to Minnesota nice.

It would be inconsiderate to visit Detroit, partake of their hospitality, and make them look bad.

The season is long, so there will be plenty of time for that later.

[Mike Sixel]

Schafer WTF!

Maybe when Ryan said Hunter wouldn't embarrass himself in CF, he meant compared to Schafer?

No, we ain't no Grammar Nazis here.

_{^{/ As usual, the TD Comment Policy already anticipates your questions}}

[Riverbrian]

Yay! Go twins! (Is this better?)

Not really... May I suggest

Go Twins!!! and take the Vikings with You!!!

That would be perfectly Ok in the Game Thread context and also fit your mood.

[smackle]

Dang. Spoke too soon.

Based on this effort by Nolasco I'm mad about Santana all over again.

[gocgo]

Is watching bad baseball better than watching no baseball?  It must be or I wouldn't be watching.

[Winston Smith]

After the last four years humor is all we have. I think we are all cried out!

Someone with Skill should post the movie clip.

Here's a game we can play:

predict the ratio of baserunners to outs for Stauffer while he is on the Twins.....

[Kirby_waved_at_me]

VMart is going to have a great season if no one pitches to him...

[curt1965]

Touchdown from the Lions, or I mean Tigers.....

[ashbury]

On the positive side, I've been eager to get a look at the Twins bullpen this year.

Be careful what you wish for.

[sampleSizeOfOne]

My bad, forgot it's all gumdrops and rainbows here at TD!

Is it possible to make a sufficiently transparent prism of gumdrops to effect that one Pink Floyd album cover?

The game is still valuable, both to see what we got in our bullpen, and as extended fielding practice.

[Whammy]

Well, that inning was fun

[ashbury]

Man, if I wasn't at work, I'd need to go get a beer right now

Get a job as a beer taster.

[Kirby_waved_at_me]

Thank goodness that inning's over. Looking forward to the 5 run Fifth!

Anyone who guesses wrong will be WHIP'ed

I don't do fractions or count past 100, sorry

[sampleSizeOfOne]

Arcia's pop up, i think, may be the first time i've ever seen the catch standing in the batter's box to catch it.

I'm not sure i've ever seen that before...

[kydoty]

Suzuki needs a beer and a happy ending.

[Kirby_waved_at_me]

Oh I just realized that Ricky is pitching the home opener...
