Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Have you ever waited at the stoplight at Oak and Washington? Or Stinson and 88? Or tried driving down 35W at about 4:00? Minneapolis has some great neighborhoods but the traffic approaches Chicago levels of gridlock in spots. In Saint Paul, there is all the same stuff, just fewer cars in your way getting there. All of the above, but chi town has such long jams.... And the construction takes forever... I started going thru there in 83 I think, and last year I recognized a flag man from then, over 30 years in the same spot..lol
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Now u made me feel bad..... The first thing I looked for online was porn!Platoon 2016. Integrity is about to re-enter American politics. Hopefully with protection. Personal security, pervs.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Platoon 2016. Integrity is about to re-enter American politics. He may be unelectable though, depending of course on which specific porn sites he was visiting.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 He may be unelectable though, depending of course on which specific porn sites he was visiting. Not only did I not inhale colitas, but I had my eyes closed during those porn visits...
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Not only did I not inhale colitas, but I had my eyes closed during those porn visits...Too bad on the former; but good for you on the latter.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Too bad on the former; but good for you on the latter.Kids used to go to the prom,Now they go to the porn.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Expect an appearance by Glunn in 3, 2, 1...It was a long day, but I have enjoyed the game thread.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Stay Puft has this one.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 As have I... 188 posts, of which only 6 vaguely referred to the game? Is Game Thread a misnomer?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 He may be unelectable though, depending of course on which specific porn sites he was visiting.ShhShhShh... Rick AguiBurton is trying to lock down a lower draft choice. Nnnnope Dert informs us that the grounder to Escobar wasn't converted into an out because the ball "hit him in the glove".
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Winnah!!1! //and a special one at that...the Twins have clinched a better record than 2013//
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Nice win, Twins!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 As have I... 188 posts, of which only 6 vaguely referred to the game? Is Game Thread a misnomer? This late into a bad season ... it's lucky anyone's posting at all.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 One very long fly ball from a tie game.... But Nunez gets his fielding % up to 50 for the inning to save us!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 13 wins for Gibson and 15 for Hughes. That is a bit of a silver lining
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 As have I... 188 posts, of which only 6 vaguely referred to the game? Is Game Thread a misnomer?Tonight was unusual - normally the game threads are focused almost exclusively on the game with an occasional diversion discussing advanced baseball statistics and fielding techniques.

Nnnnope Dert informs us that the grounder to Escobar wasn't converted into an out because the ball "hit him in the glove".I always hated when that happened, it made it so hard to catch the ball!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 13 wins for Gibson and 15 for Hughes. That is a bit of a silver liningYeah ... doesn't make me jump for joy, or be accepting of less than mediocrity, but I'll take what I can get ... glimpses count for a little something, just not everything yet; and I'll take that glimpse over nothing.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 This late into a bad season ... it's lucky anyone's posting at all.Hmmm. I wondered what was up, for so,e reason the game lacked drama... I thought for awhile there was electricity in the air, and then I remembered I had left on my wool socks!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I always hated when that happened, it made it so hard to catch the ball!Yeah. Often made me want to withdraw, heal and reflect. Hope he can heal his wounds and help lower the Twins' draft position. PS. OMG: Kelly said something in the postgame that may have been a "Tale of Two Cities" reference. Does that mean that he will give the green light to 2015's Nick Punto to break Sydney Carton out of jail with a headfirst slide?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Tonight was unusual - normally the game threads are focused almost exclusively on the game with an occasional diversion discussing advanced baseball statistics and fielding techniques. The snark thread is that way --->
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 This late into a bad season ... it's lucky anyone's posting at all.Fair enough, though you may not be giving moderators and denizens enough credit...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The snark thread is that way ---> Great. Now my right front snarkmobile passenger door is dented.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 13 wins for Gibson and 15 for Hughes. That is a bit of a silver liningMight be mercury. Fish is the new asbestos.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So you weren't really warm? It was just a story? I prolly shouldn't ask, but...In that case, what was the actual reason for being naked?Jeez.. I don't know... I've never needed a reason before.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 That search led almost immediately to KissThisGuy. com. My reference to Midnight at the Oasis is a tip of the cap to both the decision to include 'how did you find out' you misheard a lyric option in the contributions, and the person who confessed that the situation when they misheard 'Midnight after you're wasted' " was "After midnight. I was wasted". I don't think there was much mis-hearing from the "Midnight" lyrics: "You won't need no camel … when I take you for a ride";"Cactus is our friend. He'll point out the way."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I think you've all made Brian embarrassed.Nah... I've been practicing for a long time. I don't embarrass easy.
Platoon Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Nah... I've been practicing for a long time. I don't embarrass easy.OMG you have to practice, For me it comes naturally, like falling over a log
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Gibson should get extra credit, given he had to throw to one of the worst catchers to ever grace the planet /s
