ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Maybe that's why while driving through it my head grew heavy and my sight grew dim. Didn't stop for the night, though the warm smell of colitas made it tempting.I had to look up "colitas." I did not know that.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I had to look up "colitas." I did not know that. Now that you have Colitas figured out... Can someone explain what a warm smell is?

And what is wrong with Nunez's head? Is it shaped badly so that the helmet flies off every time he runs? I'd cut him from the heat just because of that.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Think giant burritos and Summit......He has a cool wind in his hair and a warm smell in his nose. That's a good way to catch a cold.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I had to look up "colitas." I did not know that. For years it was my shameful secret that I liked the song, but didn't love it enough to ask anyone the meaning of the word that was about as contextually sensible to me as 'warm smell of Doritos'. With all that the internet potentially offers to inform, one of the first things I searched for after going on line for the first time in the mid-90's was what the bleep was rising up through the air at the Hotel California exit ramp. That search led almost immediately to KissThisGuy. com. My reference to Midnight at the Oasis is a tip of the cap to both the decision to include 'how did you find out' you misheard a lyric option in the contributions, and the person who confessed that the situation when they misheard 'Midnight after you're wasted' " was "After midnight. I was wasted".

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 If you want to drive from Christchurch New Zealand to Moscow... You gotta go thru Chicago. The rest might be true, but this isn't...I recommend the polar route. South, of course. You can shave a good 45 minutes off the trip, even with a stop at the pole for a selfie.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Now that you have Colitas figured out... Can someone explain what a warm smell is?I don't think of Colitas as a warm smell, so much as hot and acrid smelling, but it does make me sleepy Now cookies baking in the oven on a winter day, that's a warm smell

I guess, in a way, I wasn't far off. When I first heard the song I was so pre-adolescently uninformed that "colitas" sounded like a gender-specific body part and the gender it belonged to was probably female because Don Henley's voice sounded marginally male.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Just tuned in and see that Mauer's out with a "contusion to the left elbow." That's a relief. Thought it might be a bad bruise. Anyway, what happened? Is anyone following the game?

kydoty Verified Member Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 At the ballpark for the last time this season, and I've noticed throughout the year that huge amounts of smoke from the Butcher and the Boar station routinely makes its way to the field. I can't help but wonder if Arcia finds it annoying and/or constantly makes him hungry.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 i was going to say this after arcia's hit ... but got distracted with the continuing colitas conversation ... but i really like the player that plouffe has been this year. all the criticism he got last year, and deservedly so, imo ... but maybe what he needed was that 'seasoning' ... i just think he's probably been most improved this year. (sorry Halsey, but that's what i think)
