Midway is the worst airport to fly out of.  It's closest to me, but I can't allow less than 2 hrs to get through security there.  I fly a lot and O'Hare, while bigger and lots more traffic, isn't the internal mess that Midway is, not even close.

 

Back in the 1940s, Midway Airport used to let my dad and his friends shoot critters with their .22 rifles around the perimeter of the field so planes wouldn't have to deal with roadkill. He grew up near 61st and Kennard. Such a different world then.

That was my family driving through Cloquet.  Nothing like the smell of paper.  They must have added some additional filtration, because it is not bad now, but the 70's, early 80s it had a distinct fragrance.

I briefly thought of the 1965 Twins tonight too. I was thinking what it felt like to have superstars on your team. Bonafide superstars. And when Carew came up we had three.

Only if he is a train going south at 35 mph and Pinto is on a train going north at 15 mph and paths cross in Gary.   (Just what I needed word problem flashbacks).
