Temperature around 70. GO!------------------------------------------Where? Things to Think About: 1. Birthdays -- Hey all... It's my Birthday Today!!! I'm still collecting these things... Today... I got my 49th. I'm keeping them all in the basement with all the other things we haven't looked at in awhile. Next to all my other birthdays... We have old hockey sticks that my kids out grew... I think there is a George Foreman Grill unopened down there as well. Oddly we also have the empty boxes from other stuff that we actually use. We will try to get rid of some of this stuff at the next rummage sale. Not sure what to charge for my old birthdays. 2. Tigers/Royals -- We have to pause from the Twins/Indians matchup today and take a look at the Huge Tigers/Royals series because The AL Central title hinges on it. Well the Tigers won last night and they won again this afternoon. That puts the Tigers firmly in control of their destiny and it's looking like the Royals will now have to fight off the Mariners (or A's) for a wild card spot. It's about the only race left... The A's Mariners and Royals and two wild card spots. One team will be golfing. If either of these 3 teams are golfing... It's will be a major major disappointment for any of them. 3. September Twins -- Our hometown nine have been playing real well lately... They have won 4 of their last 5 and the one loss contained a comeback against Max Scherzer. I know it doesn't matter... The 2014 fate was sealed along time ago... But I'd like to say this. Compared to September 2013... September 2014 has been much better. September 2013 was horrible... It wasn't worth watching at all. I even got the impression that very few were even trying. Not this year... There has been an offensive spark and defensive improvement in my opinion. The Pitching on the other hand... Well... That hasn't improved yet. 4. Trevor May -- In his last start against the lowly White Sox. Trevor Struck out 10 and he walked none. That's encouraging and that's all we need from Trevor tonight. We just need him to be encouraging. The Twins pitching staff needs to improve and that improvement... most likely... in my opinion... Will come from guys like Trevor May. If we try to sign someone like Nolasco for big Money... I don't know if that will work. I think we need May to be as good as he can be. 5. Cleanliness -- My Mother In Law likes to keep things clean... She's kinda obsessive about it and I asked her why and she replied that "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". I immediately thought this was wrong so I looked it up in the dictionary... It Turns out that "Go-Cart" and "Goggles" are much closer to Godliness.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Happy Birthday, Brian. I hope you enjoy your day. I'm sure you will watch the Twins game and pull for the Sioux.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Happy Birthday, Brian! 49! Not quite dead ... yet! Enjoy!
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 There are some thunderstorms/showers making there way through the Twin Cities right now. I wouldn't be surprised if the game was delayed a little bit (30 minutes). Just a guess.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 The storm seems to be letting up some. Of course, it's hard to tell since I've been dead lo these many years according to Ms. Town's reckoning. Hope you have a good birthday, Mr. RB.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Aaron Hicks has been scratched from the lineup. Will Santana play CF now? I hope not.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 Aaron Hicks has been scratched from the lineup. Will Santana play CF now? I hope not.Lineup is fixed above. Nuñez comes into play LF, and Schafer moves over to CF.

Yeah, i'll go with that. Cleanliness is next to Codliness. Anyway, yeah! Happy Birthday, Mr. RB!

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Last night Terry Francona set the record for the number of pitching changes in a season, and tonight he's going to try to break his own record for the number of pieces of bubble gum chewed in one game (which now stands at 412).

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Bases loaded with Nunez, Schafer, and Santana due up. How many runs, if any?
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Poop. Disappointing start for Mays, but it is nice to see Schafer out in Center, being the commander. We can still have this game, as I believe the Twins will score at least 4 runs. Our pitching has to hold.
ashbury Verified Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 HBTYRB. Coincidentally my dad's 92nd was yesterday. We threw him a surprise party near his hometown of Corona California.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I learned yesterday that "Hootenanny" was a word for gadget, or a whatchamacallit, until the 1940s when the folk people like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie used the word to describe a musical get-to-gather. Huh. I just made up a word: get-to-gather. !

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Not tuned in. Give me a sample transcript of a sound bite.He didn't say this about May, but he said it when Schaffer was making that nifty catch in center field: "I've got it." I always liked baseballs country roots: I got it! I got it! Yo la tengo.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Sorry. I shoulda mentioned something. Congrats, Mr. Dozier for another dinger. Sad to see Schafer caught stealing though. Are teams paying closer attention to him?
