big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 At the time, I was really surprised we got Millone for Sam Fuld. I thought Ryan had really fleeced Beane. Now...not so much. I don't want Fuld back, but maybe releasing him would have been a better idea.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 What a great concept tho... How bout some: Gilbert O' Sullivan -- "Milone Again... Tragedy"
big dog Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I think the Twins are miracle workers when it comes to bullpen pitchers and 4th OFers, but when it comes to AAAA starters, they just suck. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but face it, we have 3 of the worst starting pitchers in baseball right now. Nolasco has been awful, Milone needs an actual pitching staff instead of whatever Rick Anderson tells him to do, and May has been bad. May will get better over time, but these other two... heck, I'd give Milone a shot in training camp but there's no way Alex Meyer should be blocked by him. Vance Worley, Liam Hendriks, or even Scott Diamond would be better options than Tommy Milone. But y'know, with this pitching staff, it wouldn't matter. They'd all be bad. Ahem! Sorry for getting carried away. I've had it with this pitching staff. I'll let TR judge them this offseason and see if Rick Anderson will stay another season.I assume you mean the coaching staff rather than the pitching staff? I'm tired of the pitching staff (starters, anyway) AND the coaching staff. Hey look! Swarzak got rocked! Too bad there's no one left in the pen, Well, Dick, there seem to be about 15 pitchers sitting out there...

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I wonder if Milone is gonna demand a trade when he starts in Rochester next year?I wonder what he's gonna say when the Twins say "OK. You've been traded to Toledo."
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I get no kick from Milone.Mere breaking ball doesn't thrill me at all. So tell me why should it be true,That I got an out, out of you.

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 too many....It was the last year they played 154, but it was the first year the American League played 162.So it only took the Senior Circuit one year to catch up to the Junior Circuit (?) on that one, but the DH has been in effect for 42 years and they still haven't come around.

Platoon Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Well dick we are into the 5th with a tie score, what do you think? Well Bert, I am not sure! We never been this close in the 5th before?? Well dick this reminds me of a couple of [insert certain religious group here] who were invited into a home that they had called on. When asked by the homeowner what they wanted to talk about, they looked at each other, shrugged and one said " we don't know, we never got this far before"! Well Bert what did you think of the job tommy milone did tonight?
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I've seen too many guys fail, when their track record says they should be better. Some have performed much better once they left Minnesota. The Twins haven't had ma big arms, but guys like Milone, Worley, and Nolasco have had success and then come to Minnesota and can't put together two good outings.
