Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I'm still shocked by the Fuld deal. Would have never guessed Milone as a return. Today's deadline was looking like a dud league wide but it had some interesting stuff at the end of it.

Had no idea Fuld had trade value at all, let alone 'late 20's 4th starter with 3 years of team control' value. Seeing the Tigers and A's load up for the pennant race reminded me of teams going for broke when it used to be just East, West, and two playoff teams in the LCS. At least statistically, we just saw Verlander become a fifth starter. Either one or two Tiger starters better than any on the Twins staff will watch the playoffs from the bullpen.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 If anybody cares, the Trivia Question was "name the pitchers who won double digit games for both the Athletics and the Twins". I will give the answer in five minutes if anyone wants to guess or research the answer. Hint: Three left handers. The only one I knew was Rogers.

Now give me Fuld so I can move on with my day. And TR just said... Umm... OK.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I can't take any more of this. Enjoy the rest of the game if you can.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I just walked to dog around the block - it was 2 to 2 when I left. I take it things did not go well the short time I was gone.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Well, nowhere to go but up. I hope.
glunn Community Moderator Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I just tuned in 10 minutes ago. Nunez has struck out twice with the bases loaded? Hey, this is baseball and bad nights happen. The Milone pickup makes me happy, and I am glad to see Dozier get some rest.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 rally cap is on.A new-old product... The rally clapper. [Clap Clap] Cap on... [Clap Clap] Cap off... At least they got one back. If being on base were prorated as runs, maybe it'd be closer?
mikeee Provisional Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Bummer. We don't get to see Vargas bat. 6' 5", 270? wow
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Regarding the Trivia, I checked BB Ref and found the three ex-Twin left handers who won 10 or more games with the A's. I suppose we are thinking that Milone will be #4. The three: Mark Redmond, Kenny "the Gambler" Rogers, and Bill Krueger. I have had posting problems. I don't know if others have experienced the same, but I came up with a back door fix to make this posting.
snepp Verified Member Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I didn't even get to watch this game and I'm going to pretend I didn't see it.
