NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Joe Mauer: Rally-killer extraordinaire. Why is this guy batting third?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Hunter doesn't seem to care and I hate that. Somebody bought a ticket to watch the game. He makes money from that ticket purchase. Someone is getting ripped off.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Goodness, Mauer is hurting this club right now.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Goodness, Mauer is hurting this club right now. Yeah, a non-out, perchance even a hit, woulda been nice there. Oh well. We still got an inning, and don't feel like i'm going to far out on a limb in this game to say anything can happen...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Hey! Dozier's back in the game!
OldTimeTwinkie Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Deduno. Swarzak. Duensing. Deja view last Sunday versus Houston.
ScottyB Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Guaranteed runs this inning with Duensing
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 With Nuñez and Plouffe both going out, I think there is a fighting chance that P-Flo returns to the majors. We need more shortstops!
Gibby Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 On Iowa, On Forevermore (I have a sister who is an Iowa State grad and still lives in Ames. I LOVE that her daughters both went to Iowa. One graduated in 2013 and the other will graduate next year.) I was a little burned when one of my kids went to Wisconsin.

ScottyB Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Guaranteed runs this inning with Duensing Color me shocked
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 I am at this game. Ask Torii for refund... See what he says.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 With Nuñez and Plouffe both going out, I think there is a fighting chance that P-Flo returns to the majors. We need more shortstops! Terrible day for the Twins in terms of injuries and the third inning.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Terrible day for the Twins in terms of injuries and the third inning. Yeah... I can't say I've enjoyed a single part of this game. It's been an all around bummer.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 19 hits for the Tigers. I also think they were dating our women.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Ok... I enjoyed that... LOL... Dozier
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Bull-dozier!!!! My FAVORITE part of this game!!! Human Highlight Reel!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 And now it's over. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 The Twins scored 9 runs today, yet never really had a serious chance to win. This pitching staff needs some upgrades.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Brian Dozier has just been a joy to watch this season.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 3 for 5 for Fryer isn't bad. (Pinto hit a grand slam for Rochester) 2 3rd baseman injured is. (Hope they aren't very injured...) I whole heartedly approve of the ne'er say die attitude that made it interesting. Thanks for the company.
drunksam Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Ask Torii for refund... See what he says. I just got the dugout line up card and a light beer head ache. Chanced the dive.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 It could end being a pitcher. We have more options on the mound. Robinson isn't on the 4o man. If it's not a pitcher... Florimon? This may be the ugliest game I've seen in awhile. No, absolutely "maybe"....and Hell, No. You want even more "ugly?"......P-Flo just went for error #11 tonight, in 33 AAA games. Escobar at 3rd if Dozier is ready, Nunez if he isn't. If both Plouffe and Nunez can't go, 15-day one of them, 60-day Pelfrey and bring up Deibinson or Beresford. The pitching staff is a different matter- let's treat that issue separately and keep the 4-man bench (we have a full-time DH now, need the flexibility). It's coming very close to D-Day to parachute some new guys in, simultaneous to discovering more mystery injuries in the pen and with Deduno, a la Pelfrey.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 19 hits for the Tigers. In deference to the World Cup, Phil Miller at the Strib is using the metric system for baseball reporting this week, and logs only 17 hits for the Tigers... http://www.startribune.com/sports/twins/263170911.html Could be worse:http://padresteve.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/youngfrankenstein8.png?w=500&h=281 The Twins could be counting on a starter tomorrow whose road ERA (with peripherals to match) is double his very nice 3.60 home ERA. Sorry, couldn't help it. They showed a lotta heart shaking off the nine run lead, and Detroit looks a bit more vincible than the Mt. Rushmore rotation versions of the past couple of seasons. And let's not forget that the Twins have trailed the Tigers in run differential over the past three seasons by about 800 cumulative runs. Unless the frontrunner is composed almost entirely of 35 year old mercenaries (cough*NYY*cough), that's a tough gap to hop in a season or two. Eight. Hundred. Runs. That's way more than De Dude has given up in his last eight starts. Mentioned that it could be worse, right?
Marek Houston Wichita Wind Surge - AA SS On Saturday, Houston went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. After a short slump, he is now back over .290 on the season. Explore Marek Houston News >
