Parker Hageman Site Manager Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Vikings Journal's AJ Mansour attended the Ron Gardenhire press conference at Target Field this afternoon and captured a touching scene. While leaving the parking lot following the announcement, Mansour tweets that Gardenhire's vehicle was blocked from leaving by third baseman Trevor Plouffe's car. It turns out, Plouffe raced across town (running two red lights) in order to give the only manager he knew an embrace.

I've wanted a change for several years now, not because he isn't a good person. Rather, for a new perspective. I genuinely believe his players cared for him. I hope he stays in baseball. Sometimes people just need a change in scenery, not always just players.
