  1. Joe Ryan is looking nasty. That split change is working nicely off the fastball. An improved Joe Ryan is a good thing. If he keeps it up, even better.
  2. If you don't have time for the article, thanks for taking the time to contribute in the comments! 🙂
  3. Hendo can hit, but the arm? Nada. Doesn't that feel better?
  4. Yep the bats have lagged and they may have gotten rid of the wrong ones. Poor self scouting? CES looked like a monster to me before the trade. I didn't like that but I thought Steer was limited and apparently was wrong there.
  5. I believe you may be right here. They found themselves priced out of any quality pitching in the market that developed. I think they thought with Julien at second that first base was the hole. So they grabbed Santana which did not inspire me.
  6. Are you kidding me? People get caught up in the origin of said player when deciding whether to give the front office credit. Weren't a great many of Cleveland's vaunted pitching pipeline development matrix actually acquired by trade? Besides Ober? I'd argue any pitcher currently having success on the roster has been positively impacted by Maki and crew. A good approach might simply be to compare pitching staff statistics from each regime.
  7. Did anyone think moving Polo would bring back a front line starter? DeSclafani was not the reason for this trade. He was 4m gamble on providing excess starter value. Their thinking was if he was healthy he had proven to be good. If not, Louie gets his chance. Guess what? That's exactly what happened.
  8. Part of the reason this job may have been considered plum was the Pohlad's track record of not being reactionary in their hiring and firing. Their style might be called glacial, lol. Take a hard look at your list of players. Looks like you've got half of an ok team. Befitting of an organization that lost 90+ games 5 out of 6 years. Falvey's regime has made strides organization wide, in every department. I'd wager his team has gotten more out of the same players. Especially pitching development. Their record bears this out.
  9. Single and double in the previous rehab game
  10. Buxton needs a reset. Hopefully this is it. Wallner out again, meanwhile Larnach had a double and a single in his first rehab game.....
  11. The blame here is misplaced. This front office took an organization in shambles and has brought it a long way. Yes a true contender should be the goal, but how quickly we forget how bad it was. From the Twins Way of the McPhail/Kelly era to pitch to contact and total system failure. This off-season the front office was hung out to dry by ownership.
  12. Camargo? That's mildly surprising, is something up with Jeffers or Vazquez?
  13. Reminiscent of last year especially the bats. They held 500 thanks to the pitching, but there were many comments like "they'll be in 3rd place by May 1st". When that didn't happen it was changed to "they'll be in 3rd place by June 1st, etc, etc. We'll see, right? Lol
  14. They left in Julien and he smacks his first homer against a southpaw. More of this please. After a rough start Julien is heating up, do not make him a part time player.
  15. From the credit where it is due dept, Morneau has grown on me lately. Cory P has much to do with that. Cory is very good, for example he nailed the play at the plate call yesterday. It is much more conversational in the booth with this duo and maybe Morneau has settled down a little because of it. He seems to let Cory paint the picture and even allows some silence. This is a very welcome development.
  16. Android phone and tablet here with no pop-up blocker or antivirus software and no problems.
  17. The umpire scorecard for yesterday's game was just posted and confirms what I saw with my own eyes. Some terrible calls that absolutely impacted the result. It is just one game and you'd hope these things even out.
  18. Looks like fun times!
  19. Maybe I'm thick, but what's up with the fly ball fear today?
