    Wallner could be a real masher. Cuddyer wasn't exactly graceful in RF but played it ok. Unless Wallner has a real problem tracking balls when fielding with not much hope of improvement, I wouldn't trade him.

    I think the Cubs should seriously consider resigning Bellinger; he's a really good fit for Wrigley Field.

    Yeah, you might be right. When I saw the Guardians of Lake Erie sent Civale packing I thought the same thing. Their starting depth to draw from is a little lower in the minors. They did get Thor but he's pitching like a shell of his former self. It would at least prevent us from making bad trades.

    Here's a fun idea: if Duran gets injured, our bullpen is toast. Who closes then, Floro? Jax? Willi Castro? And it's not like we have great choices of hot performing minor league relievers. I'm not sure how we're going to deal with the trade deadline this year, but either way we are NOT in a position for success this year or in the direct future.

    I imagine if Billy Martin was alive and managing the Twins, he wouldn't be happy.

    I agree. I was going to post about this too. He seems "happier" now for whatever reason and hopefully he can carry this forward and be one of the better RF's in baseball which I think he has the capability to be.

    We probably won't trade Correa and I'd keep Kiriloff.

    I wouldn't be surprised to see a blockbuster trade, even Soto from San Diego. If teams aren't selling it makes our players that much more valuable and we have future roster crunches ahead. "Hold on to your butts".

    Yeah . . . if they develop a theme and get some clutch performances over the last 2 months, a division crown is not out of the question for the Francona led Guardians.

    If the Twins are going to extend the quality of the bullpen it will probably have to come from outside the organization. The injured arms coming back may not perform as before (other than Thielbar) as they don't have a track record of major league success. There are probably only 2 minor league relievers worth a look and thats Kody Funderburk (LH) and Reggie Grace (RH), maybe lefthander Michael Boyle. Everybody else just allows too many baserunners. Keuchel has pitched well enough at St. Paul but is probably ramping up arm strength and endurance. Also, I don't like the way acquiring other people's arms has turned out for this front office: high price paid with questionable performance and or health in return. The What-Are-You-Crazy choice would be to promote Marco Raya to throw some late inning darts, but would that interrupt his development?

    That last Mariner run: HBP, HBP, HBP, wild pitch. I don't think I've ever seen that and I don't think I want to see it again.

    This is the most competitive I've seen the Twins on a west coast swing in a long time. Eddie Julien . . . holy moly.

    At 6-8 250, Carson McCusker is Aaron Judge size (6-7 282). Those are 2 BIG baseball players.

    I think if Buck starts playing CF it will also be a morale booster for the team. It would be awesome if he can play CF and it leads the team to a good second half and division crown. The post season is a crap shoot.

    Actually, 2 players from the 2021 draft, Matt McLain (CIN) starts at shortstop and Henry Davis (PIT) is getting starts in right field, and from the 2022 draft Zach Neto (LAA) was the starting shortstop before getting injured. A very fast track for these guys who are holding their own at the MLB level.

    And the Twins drop to 2nd place in the Central. My fear is Josh Bell finds his groove and the Guardian's starters start to gel. Could all end similar to last year.

    I didn't know MiLB baseballs are made in China. Should switch to the SSK (Osaka, Japan) pre-tacked baseballs; very consistent and players seem to like them very much.
