  1. That slider to strike out Melendez in the 6th was balderdash. Gray & Leon looked like a mighty fine battery out there tonite. Great conviction on pitches by Gray. 6-18 with RISP; smell those ribbies.
  2. If this were 1969, in April manager Billy Martin would have confronted Tyler Duffey on his conditioning in a hotel elevator where scuffling and punches could ensue and the team would have a completely different demeanor, not roll over and play dead in a pennant race. The pitching staff is the pitching staff, but we have to score some of the runners we're putting on base. C'mon!
  3. 0-14 with RISP tonite and ended up loosing a very winable game. I think I used up a weeks worth of cuss words.
  4. Yeah, I kind of wondered about his conditioning as he looked kind of squiggie to me too.
  5. Who thought Balazovic would be 0-5 with a 10.75 era at this point this year? I like how the camera in the Lee recording pans and focuses on the chain link fence . . . awesome.
  6. I agree, but for one night and one swing of the bat . . . hoowee!
  7. MLB Trade Rumors says 2 additional pitching prospects are also being shipped to the O's. Who pays the shipping on this anyway? Right-hander Juan Nunez and left-hander Juan Rojas, sources tell ESPN.
  8. A little off subject here, but if the Twins didn't sign Correa, would Lewis have gotten hurt? Did signing Correa (cost) prevent us from signing relievers? What does having our pitching coach leave mid-season mean for our pitching staff the rest of the year?
  9. I think Sano is a big X-factor. If he can get into a hitting groove he could really pump up the offense as we make a push for the post season.
  10. Yeah, gotta go with '66 Kaat over '06 Liriano. Both had 4.5 WAR but Kaat led the league in wins, starts, complete games and innings pitched.
  11. Those right field upper deck corner seats look like they're in the ozone layer. Do they provide oxygen masks?
  12. But this is the Twins. Men in scoring position with no outs leads to no runs more than most would like. Vive la Miranda.
  13. Except . . . he only threw 9 pitches and we have a day off, why not use him for 2 innings against the team you're probably fighting for the division title..
  14. Bundy can be really effective when he's changing speeds and stays out of the middle of the strike zone. That changeup last night was nasty.
  15. Totally enjoyable. The Pale Hose have a good team but can really muck up defensively and on the base paths.
  16. Yeah, probably not a good sign for him returning any time soon . . . bummer. From Rotowire 6/22/22: "Alcala (elbow) will resume his throwing program next week, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Alcala has been on the injured list since April 12 with right elbow inflammation. He made a rehab appearance June 1 but was later shut down again with tightness in his pitching elbow. He's still likely a long way away from returning, but at least he's showing some progress and his setback wasn't season ending."
  17. I'd just make Jax the closer and run with it for awhile. Also, Thornburg, if allowed to actually pitch could help the bullpen. Alcala and Megill returning would help too.
  18. Twins jerseys for the rest of the year . . .
  19. His career mark in 12 starts against the Evil Empire is 2-6 with a 6.42 ERA. Very Twinsian.
