  1. Greinke's real advantage is that he can kinda hit if HOU makes it to the series.
  2. Did they make any changes to the roster rules involving post-season (along with the deadline change)?
  3. I miss the Perez of May/June. I can't say I believed it would last but...
  4. Do they collect MLB pay during the waiver wire period? That's not chump money. It's still not a great situation for them, but the MLB pay would offset the idea of playing in AAA for a team that didn't want you, which I imagine would be pyscologically defeating.
  5. I'd take him as a rental, but after last year's inconsistency I'm not sure I'd lock into him for any longer than that. While he personally rubbed me the wrong way, I can only speculate on his clubhouse presence. Anybody is better in a 1st place dugout. That's not on me to decide or know.
  6. The general perception here seems to be that utility is a Falvine emphasis. I hope so because I love the versatility it gives the roster (even if the league goes to 26 next year). I'm glad we have Marwin and that he's a great fit both in role and clubhouse fit, but he was also a spring signee, which makes me wonder if it's by design or luck.
  7. Wasn't Castillo with the Twins in Spring Training?
  8. And his first free agent signing was the defense-first (well, pitch-framing anyway) Castro.
  9. Have you seen him pitch this year? Parker is better. And I'm not joking.
  10. I'm not going to bother with the research, but I feel like Ehire hits way better when he plays more often. Of course, when he's not hitting they also don't put him in the lineup as often. Utility player is a tough role that requires a certain mindset. I'm glad it's working for him. I suspect he's mostly just having a career year with a juiced ball, but I'll take it. Hitting is also contagious.
  11. You can always add insurance to a long-term contract.
  12. If you're an opposing team's GM, aren't you going to up your asking price after seeing a game like this?
  13. I'm hardly concerned about having too many quality SS. In about 30 seconds from my own memory, here are some players who started at SS. A player who can field this position (at age 18) can field any position later to at least an adequate degree. Cuddyer, Sano, Danny Santana, Joe Nathan, Plouffe, Dozier...many more I'm forgetting.
  14. They promoted the right Cody.
  15. A few recent outings remind me of Molitor last year, who I think did the same thing. So...it didn't work them. Fingers crossed it works now.
  16. I'm curious. I thought he looked really good in limited action last year.
  17. I feel like they'd specify if it was international dollars.
  18. It's interesting that 3/5 are still on the team. 2/5 in the rotation, and the best starter of that year is out of the league.
  19. They sell subscriptions.
