    Arraez is safe until Austudillo is back. Even then, I wouldn't be surprised to them keep him and demote Tortuga.

    The reason this team has been successful is its MLB-ready depth. Making trades during the biggest grind of the season will only make the team weaker.

    How many times did we hear this about Hunter? That said, I'm pretty sure Buxton has more accumulated DL time than Hunter did already.

    Agreed. Though it seems like Buxton and Austudillo are kind of the heart of the team. When they're inactive, there's just a little less energy.

    Did he ever start an MLB game? I've kind of blocked out most of the 2011-2017 seasons from my memory.

    Correct. Then Lawton was traded the year before Stewart (in a deadline deal for Rick Reed). I think they called it "return of the soul patrol".

    I feel like the lineup is most different when Rosario is out, so it's a good argument. I'd say the atmosphere is the most different without Austudillo.

    I'm happy and excited about Arraez, but let's not hand him a starting job yet. In April, Austudillo was the best player not named Ty Cobb. Also, that I don't want to hand him a starting job speaks volumes for this team's depth. A few years ago we were giving away starting spots to unproven AA players.

    I agree, except Cron is an exception as they got him through dumb luck. It's bizarre that he was on waivers in the first place. I also think the Marwin pickup was huge for this team, and might be more luck in the sense that his market never developed this year. But now that they have a track record, I think free agency will be ever better in the future. Players should start wanting to come here instead of settling to come here.

    Wade is not having much luck in MLB so far. At least he'll get service time for an injury.

    Definitely Bartolo Colon.

    I like him as a 7-8 hitter on a good team. I think he'd be exposed as a middle of the lineup hitter on a bad team.

    A LOOGY who walks 4.5/9 isn't going to come in and get a guy out often enough. Might as well pick up Duke off waivers.

    That's a red flag for sure. But sometimes players pull that stuff to make sure they get traded from the basement dweller to a contender and turn it around. I'm trying to be an optimist here. That doesn't reflect well on a player's personality either, if you ask me.

    I believe clones don't count against the 40-player roster.

    Feels like a lot of oversights, but I guess we're can't blame fan voting anymore. A lot to say, but it's an exhibition game in the end. I thought they're consider Berrios for sure, maybe more. They love marketing repeat all-stars. On the other hand, my biggest fear is that this team will turn into the '01 Twins. Guzman and Mays were all-stars. Just sayin'.

    Both are on my fantasy team (IL). That last report had Marwin as feeling good and running at 70% with minor pain. I think they laid off drills for both of them with the wet field this week.

    Yes, but only a tiny bit. The report a couple days was good (taking swings, feeling better). He's not sitting around, which is a good sign. I'm more concerned about him losing his mojo at the plate after not playing for so long.

    I wouldn't make an in-season trade for a project unless it's the 8th man in the bullpen.

    Unless we can flip him for Escobar again. If there's one thing I've learned this year (and this past week), it's that you can never have too many utility players.

    Yeah, I have the opposite feeling about acceptance. Even if he's a different pitcher now, no thank you. Too many negative associations.

    In a sport where an out in 7/10 of AB gets you into the hall of fame you'd think fans could take failure to execute in a game the team won a little easier than we do.

    It's way too earlier for this conversation, but if it were today he'd be on the roster. Most teams drop a couple bullpen arms with the smaller rotation.
