    He'll get his chance. Sano will be back. Kepler will go down. Somebody will probably get hurt (or traded) within a month of that. I like the conservative, make them really earn it approach. It worked with Hunter and Span. It didn't work out so well with Liriano. There's no hard and fast rule as each prospect has their own personalities, but I think it helps with the psychological side of the game.

    I posted this elsewhere and didn't see a response, but the Twins were super careful with Meyer's innings in 2012-2014, then they dipped due to last year's bullpen demotion. Are they watching innings this year? If so, I'd say he's bullpen for sure. But maybe he's far enough removed from the shoulder injury that it's not as important. Anybody heard anything on this?

    "Those numbers were all compiled while the Twins learned little to nothing about what they had" I think the Twins base their decisions on the past 10 years in the minors and scouting rather than a few games. 2015 performance was relevant, but not a determining factor.

    Draft picks are like cars. They depreciate in value immediately.

    Weird. I'd think he'd scan his box score everyday. This doesn't surprise me. Some players memorize their stats, others are more or less indifferent. It's a different game on the field than in the stands.

    If Arcia can perform at that level I think it will sort itself out, honestly. That said, I haven't seen enough of him hitting when he doesn't play everyday to suggest that he will. But, to answer your question, if he can put up those numbers in a platoon role, of course they should play him.

    I'm not opposed to slowly transitioning in Park, like the Pirates did Kang, but he should be FT by the Break. That, and while I'd like to see Arcia thrive, so far he's been a streaky hitter who doesn't hit at all without regular playing time. I'm not sure he'd take well to starting 3 times a week based on what we've seen.

    I feel that SB is a skill often learned in MLB, as minor league players are sloppier on defense (throws and tags) and the pitchers are on a lower level as well. In AA or whatever, a player can steal on speed alone so they aren't forced to learn that extra step until at the higher level.

    I think the 6th spot is Kintzler's job to lose knowing previous roster decisions by the Twins with either a rookie or a LHP as #7. I want Meyer to do something but he's seeming pretty Real Deal over the past year.

    It seems that he's projected to essentially be Denard Span at the plate. I'd take that in a starting SS.

    "shutdown left-handed relief pitcher" I'm confused. Is his ceiling a LOOGY or a closer? What does this mean? A ceiling of LOOGY is, well, depressing.

    I hate the lottery draft system and I think the TWolves are a great example of why maybe it keeps teams from tanking but it also hurts the development of the teams "deserving" top picks. I guess the real argument is how does one "deserve" their draft rank in the first place. Why mess with the classic?
