  1. Good win solid start for our squad, but nicer win by Cleveland 3 hitting that Toronto lineup.
  2. Don't Bundy and Archer have some kind of option year as well
  3. I think not winning any/many blowouts is a weakness, though could be imaginary or a product of offense being down in baseball. Seemingly every game is close. The ultimate bullpen protector is putting up some crooked numbers early and letting Cole Sands pitch the final 3 innings.
  4. When guys have prolonged slumps it usually comes out after the season that they were nursing a sore something. That said, if he ends season with 50 rbis and a handful of playoff wins, all is forgiven
  5. I think Anthony bass, and a usable backup catcher. Nothing else really, prices will be too high. I expect a quiet deadline, rush at the end a lot of teams waiting on Soto. Soto to SF.
  6. I agree but teams like that need to catch lightning in a bottle. If Sano was traded and if he got hot it would be something to package as hope in the offseason. Sano joins Kebryan Hayes and O'Neil Cruz. Coming from someone once excited for the Butch Huskey acquisition.
  7. A team like Pittsburgh should take a flyer on Sano, but likely wouldn't give up much knowing dfa is a possibility
  8. Unless they're getting a shortstop in return then there's no trade happening. Like Seattle says we're going for it and includes JP Crawford with some pitching
  9. I think this team can win a playoff game. That is a very important step to me. Next year Lewis might be able to replace Correa, but who knows. I would shore up this team any way I could. Cleveland and Chicago likely smell blood and might also make moves. Imagine South Side Soto.
  10. I think Pagan can contribute. I might even use him in the playoffs, but it be nice to have some other options so you could have a quick hook if he started an inning walk, double
  11. Really tough 9 pitch at bat by Arraez in the 9th set the stage. The guy is brilliant
  12. I guess the irony is that we're hoping that the FO who made the ill-fated trade for Pagan to make another trade for bullpen help. Can't wait to see who they get this time
  13. Josh Bell would be a nice add on that Cleveland team. They could probably also put a serious offer in on Montas.
  14. I agree with bighat. In hindsight I would have rather seen Duffy in the 9th if he blows it then maybe he's off the roster. Of course he will likely pitch today.
  15. Cleveland has a bullpen built for October. And they've got a few guys who can hit a little. Don't let them get too far ahead.
  16. Boras knows the list of teams potentially needing a SS next year, including the Dodgers, Cubs, Cards, and maybe Yankees. There's only a top 3 with Bogarts and Turner. I suspect Boras convinces Correa to play the field, not sure if any contract proposal can get ahead of that.
  17. I don't in any way support trading away Correa, but the Twins are back to potentially needing a SS for next season. Enter the St. Louis Cardinals who thought they had a nice SS in Edmund Sosa, but who has struggled this year with the bat but did pretty well last year. The Cardinals regularly turn out pitching, so they could include a young controllable starter and a decent reliever with Sosa and it gets them Correa. Again not supporting it but the FO regularly makes deals with the future in mind.
  18. I love Tim's catch phrase -- 'Time to clean up the dirty Laudndry'
  19. 6 for 13 with RISP love to see that it felt like every game last year was 2 for 10.
  20. I had noticed multiple opposite field hits over the weekend by Kepler. Hopefully a sign of good things ahead.
  21. I'd be more concerned if he was still counted on to be the cleanup hitter. He can hide down in the 8 spot and he will warm up eventually. This is a ride it out situation.
  22. If my closer was traded the day before the season I put whomever I feel like in the 9th. If it fails its on the front office, at least for a couple of weeks of letting the bullpen pecking order reset.
