  1. You mean, like a circular saw, or a cold chisel, or such?
  2. Great! Now all we need is a Sano bounceback, and a Buxton bounceback, a Kepler bounceback, a Polanco bounceback, an Addison Reed bounceback, an Odorizzi bounceback, a Schoop bounceback, a Hildenberger bounceback, a Pineda bounceback.... And a closer. Then, we might even contend for the Central!!
  3. But if he came to Minny, at least he'd have some actual use for a beard. B-r-r-r-r-r-r......
  4. Heh.... Sign 'em both. Just to make heads explode all over baseball. Come on, Falvine, you're playing with house money, anyway.
  5. I'm finding it hard to get excited about this signing-- my first question was, who goes from the 40-man now? I love me some Granite, but I think he'd be the one that might suck the least to lose. Heck, I don't even know. I was hoping for some Cody Allen news, not this.
  6. You know, this kind of reminds me of trading for John Ryan Murphy, because he hit that one home run against Perkins that one time.
  7. Plus, he was a sleeper I picked up for my fantasy team a few seasons ago- and he was a HOSS! :-)
  8. "Minnesota could end up striking late again on someone like Dallas Keuchel or Cody Allen." Yes, please. Either or both.
  9. I guess I don't mind this pickup- But I'm more interested in who goes from the 40?
  10. We had 3 big cornerstones we all waited for a few seasons ago- Sano, Bux, and Berrios. So far, only 1 has been a consistent major league asset, and no world beater. I'm sad. Still somewhat hopeful, but about to cut bait and begin the wait for the Lewis - Kiriloff axis to 'arrive.'

  13. I'm so glad this big shoe finally dropped. I really happy with this move, not only for his bat that the Twinks sorely needed, but for his potential impact on Sano, Eddie R, maybe even Bux. Thank you, Falvine, for this slightly tardy Xmas gift.
  14. "Andrew Vasquez was a 32nd-round pick who never garnered prospect list love, but he earned his way all the way to the Major Leagues last season. " True, where MoY allowed him to throw 3-4 pitches per outing once in a while. I'm excited to see some of these young bucks in the next cpl years, and hopefully, we've got a Mgr now that will let them actually play a little.
  15. Man, Segura is the guy I REALLY wanted. Phillies are building something over there...
  16. I know this is old news now, but I was just thinking of Tyler Austin waking up and checking his twitter feed that morning.... "They signed who....? What th......? What am I, chopped liver here...?"

The real Terra Nova crew. Their bodies still rest on the Ross Ice Shelf.
  18. From the album: 2017

Long-ago LA production of "Terra Nova." Yours truly 2nd row C., as Robert Scott
  19. I'd love to see Donaldson in Twinks' pinstripes- but I bet they get Cruz instead. And I love Daniel Murphy- as a lynch-pin piece for a team like the Cubs, but not for this MN team at this time.
  20. Jax is encouraging, and some good stuff from Bray, too. But the rest of the young Twinkies in the AFL- Pfffft.... Not exactly setting the world on fire. Disappointing, the timing of Rooker's injury, so we couldn't see what he could do against the other talent.
  21. "...the reality is that those players didn’t blossom under his leadership." Bingo. Nail/head. Anybody who's casually followed these boards knows I was no fan of Molly as a manager. I'm looking forward to the breath of fresh air. But Molly was and is an astute baseball guy, he was just put in the wrong spot, IMO. If he does stay with the org, and re-assumes that roving instructor role he had, all the better for him and the Twinks' prospects. He's got a lot to offer. But there's the reality. Yes, we had that one unexpected season in the sun- but for all the collective wisdom in the dugout, the fact that Sano, Bux, Kep, among others, didn't take the next step on the MLb level is a failing, and not only on those players' parts. If one or two guys don't blossom, well, that's the cruel mistress called baseball. But for nearly every prospect to fall on his face as those guys had speaks to something more. Someone, somehow, has to find the key to unlock that potential that each of them has shown in flashes, on a regular basis. Fingers crossed that Rocco and whatever crew he assembles has a few more keys on their ring. I am hopeful that we'll see less WTF lineups and in-game choices made. Hopeful that we don't burn up BP guys, or trust "vets" in key lineup spots when they're obviously not producing. Good luck to Rocco, and the Twinks. I can only think of him being another major arrow in the quiver when it comes time to recruiting quality FA's this winter.
  22. My thoughts exactly. Actually, my thoughts since about 4 years ago.
