  1. Many thanks to you guys for the updates from the farm, that's where all the action is in the Twins org. these last few years. What an exciting day! Meanwhile, the "big club" looked completely hapless and helpless for the 4th out of 5 tries....
  2. Pelf, come on, now, this ain't funny.
  3. Glad to have found this forum- great chats, great folks with intelligence, wit, and occasional pathos- it is the Twinkies, after all... Just wondering, on the eve of the home opener-- when was your first Twins game? What happened, what do you remember about that day? Mine was Aug. 9, 1970, a double-header, where the Twins got greased twice by the A's, with former Twin Don Mincher jacking a couple of taters off Kaat, and 19-year-old Bert Blyleven taking the loss in the opener. Gorgeous sunny day, with the family making the trip all the way from Bismarck, yah sure, you betcha. It was such a treat to see the HUGE Met Stadium, and the players who'd until then, only been cyphers on the scratchy AM radio, or the flickering black and white TV. Living in the Cities for most of the 80's, I spent lots of time at the Dome, for better or worse. When was your first trip to the old ball yard? The Met, Dome, or the new Targette palace (which I hope to visit one day soon!)
  4. I'll go ye one better- I've got a tingling that we may score an actual run! Methinks Escobar Bucky-Dents one over the yellow line in left. It's a real tingling. I gotta sit down now.
  5. Aieeeee! Cue the Bernard Herrmann violins!
  6. Torii was a dick. He should have conducted himself in a far more professional manner. Joe West was a dick. He should have conducted himself in a far more professional manner. But come one, it's a 9th inning, game-ending situation. Why simply cause controversy by not appealing to first? Understand the gravity of the situation, even if you're sure of the call. Joe West just seems to go out of his way to court controversy whenever there's an opportunity. At least he didn't get all up in Torii's face, but there he goes again, making a ballgame the Joe West show. Come on, MLB, give him some damn direction, or get him the hell out.
