    And the participants of the Klown Kar keep trotting out. This bullpen... sheesh...... Get that new kid lefty out there- he'd surely inspire more confidence than Thompson and Dunce.

    This Thompson has scared me since I first saw him. And it's not cuz I'm jealous of his hair. It's because he seems to suck at moments when we really need him not to suck. You know, like walking the leadoff man kind of suck.

    Hey- game outta first. Nobody woulda thunk it earlier this year. I am enjoying it- I think it's a precursor to what's going to happen a couple of years from now. But it's sad to see them once again look so helpless against a MLB team, as in the first 2 series.

    Well, without the allotment of first-inning runs, it's a slog for this team. And the fans. Yeh, have to confess, I'm one of the pessimistic crew- been waiting for that 8-game or so slide. The Royals just had a bad stretch, the Astros, and others, so everybody goes thru it. As happy as I've been to see good starting pitching and timely hitting this term, after so many years without, it's hard to have confidence that we'll pull out of a bad stretch by depending on the O to come through in a tight game. I have more confidence the starters will hold up long-term this year, than the offense.

    Oh, hello- Had to miss the early going, anything resembling exercise has to be done here early AM- it's now 11 AM, 93 and 70% humidity-- miserable, kind of like the Twins bullpen. Swear to God, unless it's Fien or Perk, every single dude they trot out there just gives me the willies. Thompson, Boyer, Dunce, the lot of 'em.

    Heh.... Years ago, I was in Damn Yankees, back in college. I played Smokey, one of the Senators. Did that high part in ' You Gotta Have Heart.' Any chance at hitting those notes again faded away long ago, along with the hairline. Wish I could be there on Date Night!

    MVC_007F-01.jpg Why I hate Boston: So that was my Baby- Honda Magna I kept running like a top and looking like a sweetheart. Came to China on a 1-year teaching contract, worked it out with my buddy to keep her in his garage. Well, he laid his bike down, and had to go to LAX for a week long trip, so he took my bike over there, and left it in the garage- never to be seen again. He was from Boston. So- the Sawk, Celts, Broons, Pats, I hate them all. Like HATE.

    Buchholz and his hair goop did the job, tonight, too. Maybe some 9th-inning magic? I love a good pitchers' duel, but it still kind of makes me feel like this--

    Man, win or lose, my hat's off to Pelf. He was on my hate-watch list for the past couple of years, but he really battled tonight, as he has been so far this season. Too bad we didn't get our allotment of first-inning runs. There was no lead for him to make it stand up.
