  1. Not to be negative, but what's the point for trading for Realmuto when we don't have a solid rotation along with a closer we can trust for starters. Along with so many questions with the hopes of seeing our offense bounce back after so many "off years" last season from so many players. Along with a solid defensive infield and an actual bench the Twins should not be giving up any top prospects to sign him.
  2. If the Twins actually make an offer for either guy the agent is only using the Twins hoping that they put in a high bid just to make something for another team to beat. Only way either player signs with MN would be because of greed. Not because they feel the Twins have the best chance to win a World Series.
  3. What it seems to me is like they are given a number that they cannot spend over and whatever they have left over they get to keep. It would be different if Cleveland didn't drop as much as they have. Sad part is that the Twins were only a few good moves away from possibly stealing away the division if they didn't keep dumpster diving for "talent." I'm not saying it required a Bryce Harper type signing to do it.
  4. This is easy. 2 choices and the correct answer may be both. Derek Falvey & Thad Levine seem like 2 that may need to go to improve this organization.
  5. I would include stick your head in a snowbank until you almost completely numb and then hope it's a bad dream.
  6. There's one flaw if you look real close in the video. He was facing the Twins.
  7. yuck. no clue what they are thinking with this signing. even an option for 2020 for a guy who should have been signed to a minor league deal. losing what hope i have more everyday in them. I would have rather seen Wade Miley signed for sure. no clue what they see in Perez.
  8. If we have to dumpster dive for a SP why not Wade Miley?
  9. Am I the only person shocked when I heard it's another 1 year deal?
  10. So have him platoon with Kepler? If so when will Cave get some AB's?
  11. I hope people aren't thinking that he will become "Josh Hader like" if we move him to the pen.
  12. Not sure why they don't extend a couple of years on some of the better RP's on the market. If we fall out of contention and they are pitching good they will have great trade value at the trade deadline. All we need is to hope we can use the bullpen a little better this year and not run arms into the ground like they did with Reed last season.
  13. Trade him to Baltimore or Seattle. Let him go to a team that doesn't want to win many games so he can get a full season of AB's. Then if he is doing what most think he is capable of doing he will be rewarded and traded to a contending team. Sad part is that Austin has such great potential and will most likely not be given the AB's he needs to do it in MN. To be honest, the best place for Austin would be to go play in Korea or Japan. Eric Thames got another chance in MLB after a few outstanding years in Korea.
  14. You can't throw in a bunch of junk and expect to get a quality arm back. Only way that happens if you take on a bad contract.
  15. 2 & 3 will be true when some pitching help is added.
  16. All we want to know is will he be a clubhouse leader that this team needs & will he please take Sano under his wing and get back on the right path.
  17. This "could" be a great signing if the 1st thing Nelson Cruz does is have a very long sit down with Sano and gets him right. Maybe this could be the last chance to save Sano from himself.
  18. Not sure if know this or not Twins pitchers can no longer pitch to him. So we shall see if he can actually still "crush the ball at TF
  19. Attendance has dropped so much every year. A straight out tanking season will be very hard to get people to come back until like mid May if not June in 2020 or 2021 when they actually start winning again. You can have the high draft picks but you still need to get lucky 9 times out of 10 to get a star. As well as the fact that tanking is the new "in thing" in MLB so it would be a race to the bottom. Not worth it.
  20. I would say Harold Baines even though he was never a Twin. If he is worthy of being in the Hall of Fame we may as well make him a member of ours as well. Sad part he probably will never had his number retired by any team. So why not be "Minnesota nice" and bring him in.
  21. Just like Allen there are a ton of innings on all those pitchers arms. I would not be mad if they brought in all of them but as long as they don't over use them like they did last year with Reed.
  22. A few bad appearances and a poor defense can kill a relief pitcher's ERA for quite a while.
  23. The smart play now is not really a popular play for the Twins. That would to basically do nothing right now and wait for the big FA's to sign and then take a couple of chances on guys desperate to land a contract and flip them at the trade deadline or earlier. But, please don't sign any guys after Spring Training starts.
