    I think it's more about everyone is just ready for a change. Dick & Bert were not like a Vin Scully combo at all. They had their moments but we have seemed to already heard all the stories they can come up with already.

    It least that got resolved. You would expect they should be able to get a low A lottery ticket for him or possibly some international money at least. With the 3 batter rule it could have got ugly in a hurry if teams laid off on the junk curveballs and make him throw a bunch of pitches.

    Not that it's that big of deal, I was just wondering when there will be a roster move to get back to 41.

    AL central window is closing rapidly for the Twins. The Sox will not hesitate to make moves and they have always been aggressive when they need to. Maybe not 2020, but I would be thinking 2021 will be the changing of the guard on top of the AL Central if the Twins can't make a trade for a top starter or if prospects can't make the jump to the majors.

    So why do i get ripped for saying Arraez should be a lead off hitter but now it's a good idea. Don't give me this new metrics garbage. Your hitter with the best OBP should be 1st. Would you rather have a solo HR or a 2 run HR if you feel this team is going to keep hitting bombas.

    I would trade Polanco before I would think about trading Arraez if he continues to play well. I know everyone will say Polanco is/was an all star last year. Just go look at his stats after the all star break. Poor defense and we can't hope JD can get to all the balls on the left side of the infield. Sell high on Polanco if teams believe he has a high trade value.

    It's poetic when you think about paying him basically 23M a season. I can't recall the last player the Twins gave 23M a season to right now but I do recall the last couple of years were no where near worth it.

    Buxton would have been a candidate for one of these extensions when he first came up. That may not have worked out very well since he can't stop running into walls and slamming himself into the field as well.

    So then move him to another position or trade him since he has such a "high value" now.

    So you want a team to trade for him with the price tag of a star shortstop to move him to 2nd base? The value between that would be huge. Doubt you could find a team that foolish.

    I would not want either JD or Bryant. JD "wants" a 4 year deal. I don't feel teams are wanting to give him the 4 years at much more than $85M tops. If he had a 4 year $100M deal on the table I feel he would have taken it by now. Along with the nonsense of him wanting to let Atlanta match any deal would not make me happy. It just proves the guy wants to play there and no place else. I had a good laugh when I made a post on reddit about whether JD would accept a 2 year 60-65M deal and pretty much the consensus was he is too old to take just a 2 year deal and then to try to go back on the market after that. Pretty much proves the point I have tried to make the whole time, whoever signs him will most likely get burned in the last 2 years. As for Bryant, he would not want to resign here and to me I can't see the reason to trade top prospects for a 2 year rental. Those top prospects should be traded for pitching and not a 3rd baseman. This team needs pitching to go anyplace beyond being one and done in the playoffs again.

    Trading for Bryant would be a mistake. The Twins would have no chance of resigning him and would only have him for 2 years. It would not be worth the price he would command when the Twins have a glaring weakness in the starting rotation. The Twins should be focusing on trading for pitching over dreams of trading for the likes of Bryant & Arenado.

    I would not do that for 27.5M a season. I would pay 2/60 though if we had to sign him. Not interested in 4 years at all. The Twins are not lacking power sources at all. So technically all they are paying for is the defense in a sense. Pitching is what wins in the playoffs not power. Hoping for Atlanta to get this deal done with soon so this can be over.

    I can't see Pittsburgh moving him already. This is his first year of arbitration so it's not going to be that expensive for them.

    How about to start thinking about the budget if the sign our core players to long term deals and have a couple of bad contracts to deal with as well. It's not about being cheap. Think about extensions for Berrios, Buxton, Garver, Rogers, & possibly Arraez for starters. Yes, the Pohlad's are being cheap having a 130M budget. They could easily raise it up to 175M without blinking and still clear over 50M+ a year. There is nothing saying they can't use the money they have left in budget for a trade either now or in July.

    Whatever. I guess i'm the only one that doesn't want to get burned on long term deals that will be hard to swallow in the last 2+ years. The Hill signing could turn out to be a steal. I would have rather brought in Wood over Bailey.
