  1. So add Kintzler to deal and then maybe sign Sergio Romo or someone else to close because I don't know what to expect from Perkins.
  2. This means Alvarez would be on the table like Dave said in the first place. Calhoun is technically a higher rated prospect.
  3. Sweet first 2017 post until it gets removed from topic. I just hope however this Dozier deal turns out or if we keep he is not what the new brain trust will be known for. I am not a fan of the deadline talk for a deal to get done.
  4. Urias threw over 122 innings last year and never came close to breaking 100 innings in his short career. For people thinking he is going to be #2 behind Kershaw are going to be wrong. The Dodgers are going to have to get very creative to limit his innings to keep him around 150 or so innings. I am not saying he does not have the talent to become great but he has been babied so far and who knows how he will react to getting pushed.
  5. Kinsler will not waive his no trade clause without getting a couple years added on to his current deal. He will also be 35 this upcoming year and teams are finally waking up and using some common sense when it comes to contract length to players in their mid 30's. If JDL and Alvarez are on the table beg for a small 3rd piece and get it done!
  6. The Cards would like to dump him on the Twins in a Dozier deal. Maybe a change of scenery could turn him around.
  7. I hope that is not what we have to look forward to at a few of the positions. Sano will be the DH by 2019 and if Eddie Rosario doesn't bounce back in 2017 I am not sure if it's not time to move on.
  8. The future is always bright when you get close to rock bottom. Sorry, I only have faith in Ervin Santana in this rotation.
  9. The next step after hopefully finalizing a deal with the Dodgers is to shore up the defense. Jason Castro will be helpful to the pitchers having a catcher that can frame a pitch. Sadly the defense was not very helpful to the pitchers. This will take a few years and cannot be expected to fixed over night.
  10. Change #4 to a legit 3rd outfielder. As much as I have always liked Eddie Rosario he doesn't seem like the right fit. He still needs much more work to become a starter for a good team. If he could show some discipline at the plate and raise his OBP he could be that guy. When it takes 7 years of playing professionally to draw 209 career walks something has to change. The worst part he hasn't broke 20 hr's since his early minor league years.
  11. Yankees just signed Chapman to a 5 year deal for $86 million.
  12. Didn't the Twins trade rule 5 picks with the Marlin's and that's how the Twins got Johan Santana?
  13. Besides him be a high school player the Twins "were" well known for slowly promoting players. Hopefully the new brain trust is a touch more aggressive. But it would not take much.
  14. I am guessing that he might be available in the minor league part of the draft. If that is correct he would not take a 40 man roster spot.
  15. So trade for a lefty in Pomeranz who for the first time in his career pitched more than 100 innings(170 2/3) and then trade Ervin Santana for prospects? What do you gain besides saving a little money and hoping that it works out in the end? Sorry, I am not drinking that kool-aid.
  16. What about the offense production? No way Polanco is going to hit for the power numbers Dozier has put up as a Twin.
  17. I don't know why Brian Dozier's agent would be involved in trade talks. Dozier is under contract for 2 more years and it would make zero sense that his agent would have anything to do with a trade. There is not a no trade clause or anything that would involve an agent in the trade talks.
  18. Also, if they would sign him then both Park & Vargas would be in Rochester unless they are dealt.
  19. Not to be the dealer of bad news, those stats are against Twins pitching...
  20. NO! The Twins are in no way close to contenting that they would even bother talking to his agent. The Twins are just one of the teams in the AL that have their 1st round pick protected.
  21. isn't that what you would call a smoke screen? why would the Yankee's want to tell everyone they are interested and drive up the price if they were "in" on Dozier? If NYY are smart they would say any leaks that we discussed Dozier means they are out. Is it just me or does this smell of the Yohan Santana trade talks back when we kept hearing all these big names from Boston & the Yankees being tossed around only to walk away and the Mets came in and made a deal.
  22. I beg to differ, the Twins don't have to trade Dozier buy right now he will have his highest trade value. Dodgers could just add a player like Brandon Phillips for a fraction of the price. The Twins need to start a rebuild this off season and sadly Dozier has the best value in return.
  23. It is a good signing if you plan on contending soon. Does anyone see this team contending in 3 years? I am a dire hard fan but I don't see this turning around that soon.
  24. For a team that is clearly rebuilding is this smart to sign a catcher for this type of money over 3 years? Wouldn't you think Mitch Garver should be ready to take over in 2018 at least if not sooner?
