  1. They also have plenty of AAAA pitchers on the 40 man that could sent through waivers down the road.
  2. Our FO didn't draft him. It's simple for them to pass on most of these guys because of this. It will be interesting to see what happens when the players they drafted are needed to be protected.
  3. Reed would have been fine if he was not over used so much early in the season.
  4. I hate to say it, the story seems to have changed from what was earlier reported. Funny how things work out.
  5. This may come back and hurt the Twins BIG TIME if Buxton can find his stroke & stay healthy going forward. Those are 2 big things to ask for sure. Is it worth it to gain another year of service time? My answer would be no. Gaining 1 extra year of service time gains you absolutely nothing in the long run. Back to my earlier points that if he rebounds and stays healthy his agent may not entertain the thought of a long term deal. Then it's just a waiting game for him to become a free agent and leave. On paper this seems like a smart move. Sadly, everyone comes out of this a loser.
  6. This seems to be one of those cases where he will be given a couple of starts and if he fails big time DFA. At least they are giving him a shot. It's up to him now.
  7. A manager. I prefer to think outside the box.
  8. LA can't take on salary without moving another. Luxury tax issues.
  9. The real reason that Sano was sent there is because they have the highest ticket prices of all the Twins minor league teams. Purely a joke. But knowing the Twins you never know.
  10. If it means your players are doing great and getting promoted I hope most of our minor league teams suffer badly this year.
  11. Polanco's suspension would be half over if not for all the cancelled games.
  12. How old would a player be if he played his full college career? 22 or 23 depending on how old he was when he graduated high school. No reason why he can't become a major league pitcher. It took Jake Arrieta until he turned 28 to figure it out. Whether that was due to a pitching coach or that he finally matured at what turns out to be a late age. No one knows.
  13. So what does this all mean if he would make the majors in 2-3 years when he still has the military commitment?

    Kerrigan?

    Thought this was about Nancy.
  15. By the way, make sure to bring a shovel. They will call it a team building exercise. Then they will ask you to come back at a later date. Rinse, Repeat.
  16. Now we just need to hope he can stay healthy and get back to his form before the injury.
  17. If they keep him down for like 2 weeks or less it gets another year of control. So I have to disagree it's not about money it's years of control. Besides he is not ready.
  18. Even if Gordon is ready, keep him down long enough to earn an extra year of team control. I would also not even think about starting Gordon right now. He has not earned it & the chance of ruining him is not worth the risk. Let him earn the promotion to AAA first.
  19. Comparing a pitcher to a hitter are not the same. A pitcher needs to get his work in to get in his work. They also should have had an option for like $15M for 2019.
  20. Hope this doesn't turn out like when the Twins signed Kendrys Morales. The biggest questions will be what has he been doing since pitchers & catchers reported? Is he behind & will he be ready for opening day without much of any Spring Training?
  21. I'm pretty sure it's the 75th pick in the draft. Twins got a competitive balance round B pick. The Tinws would give up their 3rd highest pick.
  22. Anyone else notice Neil Walker can't find a team? Just saying demand is not that great for 2nd base. I know Walker is not equal to Dozier but just proves they could find a cheap alternative some where next year if Dozier demands the world in a contract.
  23. I have no problem with the lowball offer. The agents overplayed their hands & most likely passed on good deals back in December. I love it that is called collusion when teams finally figure out it's not smart to spend like drunken sailors on leave. This is gonna be really ugly when the collective bargaining agreement is up. With all the teams tanking t rebuild.
