  1. NO! The Twins are in no way close to contenting that they would even bother talking to his agent. The Twins are just one of the teams in the AL that have their 1st round pick protected.
  2. isn't that what you would call a smoke screen? why would the Yankee's want to tell everyone they are interested and drive up the price if they were "in" on Dozier? If NYY are smart they would say any leaks that we discussed Dozier means they are out. Is it just me or does this smell of the Yohan Santana trade talks back when we kept hearing all these big names from Boston & the Yankees being tossed around only to walk away and the Mets came in and made a deal.
  3. I beg to differ, the Twins don't have to trade Dozier buy right now he will have his highest trade value. Dodgers could just add a player like Brandon Phillips for a fraction of the price. The Twins need to start a rebuild this off season and sadly Dozier has the best value in return.
  4. It is a good signing if you plan on contending soon. Does anyone see this team contending in 3 years? I am a dire hard fan but I don't see this turning around that soon.
  5. For a team that is clearly rebuilding is this smart to sign a catcher for this type of money over 3 years? Wouldn't you think Mitch Garver should be ready to take over in 2018 at least if not sooner?
  6. Holy crap this is gonna be a real challenge for Trevor May. Trying to become a lefty now? Can this club ask for more out of him than that?>
  7. I could only see signing a decent new if he is not getting much interest in the market and then of course flip in July for prospects. Kind of like Atlanta has done lately.
  8. How about not worrying about the 9th inning and focus on innings 1-7. Having a shut down closer like Chapman is a waste if you cannot get him the ball with the lead. I am aware the market is thin for starters this year but please set it up where the Twins could be better in 2-3 years.
  9. I would have like to see the Twins get Jason McLeod. I hope this was a bring in the best candidate for the job or that he was the cheapest to hire on the short list of candidates. These are the few jobs where over paying to get the best is never a bad thing. They control our beloved Minnesota Twins future. I can't wait for 2019 to start winning divisions again.
  10. That played bothered me as well. I would paid anything to see a manager pull an outfielder out of a game when they make a bad decision like that throw. It would be a wake up call to all to quit making poor decisions. The Twins are playing for nothing so why not send a message.
  11. Where did you see this about ESPN talking about Park?
  12. Just makes you wonder why they didn't have this addressed months ago when they talked about a potential injury. Makes you hopeful for next year though. Get healthy and crush some more bombs at Target Field.
  13. To me, the big crunch is 1B/DH. What if Park starts to get it together? Is there room for he, Mauer and Vargas in 2017? Two in the lineup most days, one on the bench in reserve. But that would force you to carry only one utility guy. Not sure I'm crazy about that. Well that's where the trade from your strength to fill another hole comes to play. Just feel like Boston would like to give another cast off a try if the Twins sour on Vargas. Not sure what I did there tried to use part of DocBauer's post.
  14. So who will be the first to get their thread consumed if they figure out the Twins roster move?
  15. What are the other 2 moves? Hopefully you mean Nolasco & Abad. If Ervin Santana is dealt there goes any chance at getting out of the cellar next year.
  16. He will end up in the AL East and after a few weeks he will be crushing it with a new hitting coach.
  17. Come on think about it, Santana is getting activated on Saturday so why not call up a relief pitcher for a couple of days and maybe you dump a different pitcher when you activate Sanatna.
  18. Just do everyone a favor if this is true and retire. If he clearly hid this from the team man up and just retire right now and let the Twins out of this nightmare of a contract.
  19. My only problem is having Sano play right field. With all the different parts of the wall it will be hard for a player playing a new position to also have to deal with. There are so many different surfaces on the wall the gives of a different ricochet in so many places. Just put him in left, hope Buston can turrn the corner and play center and have Rosario in right and platoon Arcia.
  20. I would have to say no on signing Wieters. He would only sign a 1 year deal in Minnesota and you would still lose the first round pick for signing him. Also, they still have Suzuki eating up $6M to deal with. Give me AJ for $3-4M and I can deal with that for a year.
  21. Without a doubt! With all the restrooms in Target Field I am sure they could find him a mop and bucket so he could definitely be a great hire once again.
  22. Only call him up this year if you plan on having him making the rotation out of spring training. Of course that is not that easy, will he be allowed to play winter ball and what if he has a poor spring training. 1.Santana 2. Hughes 3. Gibson 4.Nolasco/Milone depending on which you don't trade 5. Berrios 6. Duffy? Which I have to say I really want Trevor May in the 4th slot but I feel teams are going to copy KC with their bullpen success and leave him as a set up man. One problem is that you have to get through the first 6 or 7 innings with a lead.
  23. Trevor May belongs in the rotation. short & sweet.
  24. So why was he moved from catcher again? Too big for the position or because we already had a franchise catcher in the majors then.
