  1. None of the listed deals are even the best "bang for the buck" deals that happened this winter.
  2. Not even close for what Boston could get for Devers. Kepler & Arraez wouldn't be that attractive of trade chips for Boston. If you could merge the 2 into 1 player it would be great, A good hitting outfielder that is decent in the Outfield. Not sure why everyone thinks Arraez is so great. He is best used at DH. Then you have a DH without power. Still confused why he isn't just thrown into the leadoff spot to make the starter work right away and let everyone else see shat he's got that day. Set the table early and hope for an early run. Devers is also going to be a free agent and unless you can get a 24-48 hour window or so to try to sign a long term deal you just wasted "trade chips" for a rental. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets moved because you would have expected Boston to be trying to sign him long term now or trade him for valuable controllable players and prospects.
  3. I'm sure Boras called and said put up 10 years and 325 million and he's yours. The Giants dodged a bullet and Cohen is just an idiot.
  4. Hopefully the Twins lose their number. Way too many times they have traded away damaged goods and the other team gets burned.
  5. That's what teams do to pitchers on the last year of the contract. No point in saving them unless you really like the guy and want him back.
  6. If they get blown away of course they could trade either player. You also have to think of what a possible Kepler and prospects could bring back for a starter as well. Nathan Eovaldi, Jordan Lyles, Michael Wacha, and Corey Kluber out there as free agents. Not the sexiest names out there but there is potential at the right price.
  7. Sounds about right. Also, teams won't want to give up a draft pick to sign him to a 2-3 year deal with opt outs.
  8. So does it matter then? If Arraez is the only one that can hit and he doesn't have power or speed he is stranded on first. Also nobody will be on base so he won't drive anyone in. And the new metrics he isn't the leadoff hitter and he should be.
  9. Do Boras and Correa at least send the Twins a nice gift basket for making the Giants pay up?
  10. Sale is broken and I doubt he ever comes back any where near his top form.
  11. It would be a 2-3 year deal with opt outs. That's the route I would take if i made the choice.
  12. As much as I like Arraez I have no issue trading a 1 trick pony for starting pitching. I never liked having a 1st basemen under 6 ft. SignTrey Mancini to a 1-2 year deal and figure out what to do about shortstop.
  13. A team can be willing to spend money but it doesn't insure that players will want to sign with the team. Unless the team is overpaying big time in years and money don't expect anything to change.
  14. The Twins most likely are out since Boras is trying to secure a 7 year deal for a pitcher with a ton of arm issues.
  15. Swanson wouldn't cost 250M even on a 10 year deal. Odds are he crawls back to Atlanta on a 1 year deal and tests the market next season.
  16. Pass if the deal is over 4 years. I would rather overpay on a shorter deal. No way the Twins can give a pitcher with arm troubles a 6+ year deal.
  17. How will the ban of shifts affect Arraez? They always said you can shift all you want and he will find a hole. I don't like the idea of banning defensive shifts. These are supposed to be professional athletes and I feel they are either being lazy or stubborn not working in BP to breaking the shift.
  18. Where is the simple and better option of just signing free agent Christian Vazquez? No need to waste any prospects when Vasquez is available.
  19. Do the qualifying offer picks happen before or after?
  20. You can't say they are on the table if you want the greatest return. if a team wants them bad enough the Brewers will obviously be open to a trade.
  21. Not that it would change my thoughts about acquiring him but I would expect them to eat some money as well if they want to move him.
  22. Trading for a closer is not a great idea most of the time. A team only gets rid of a good closer for 2 reasons. 1, They are making too much money and it's a small market team. 2. They are moving on because they know he's washed up or damaged goods.
  23. What is his greater value right now the bat or his low contract? I really don't see a high return if he would be traded. When you think his best position would realistically be DH. I don't feel team want to spend high on a DH when its best used to give players a rest but still keep their bat in the lineup.
