  1. Was hoping a rookie would take the number 5 spot, or a series of rookies until one stuck......
  2. I hope you all bought fiverr..... wow.
  3. Good question....but that wasn't the point....the person said he wanted a free market, but most people don't want a free market for the draft, once again, screwing the players. So, do you want a free market or not? And if not always, why always pick the owner's side of free markets? I actually have a solution I will post this spring, it is a hybrid system, where the worst teams get more money to spend on players entering the system, ,but no one gets to draft a player and make them go to a system for 6-10 years of no freedom of choice.
  4. My point is simple.....until they do it, we don't know if they can. Nothing more or less than that....but people keep saying he (they are) is good at it, and we just don't know that yet. when I made this point last year, I was told to just wait for 2020 (now, that's a bad year to judge)......so, when? Five years is enough time to have drafted or traded for a minor league pitcher they make into a good starting pitcher.
  5. As for Gore, I merely pointed that out in response to your post.... nothing more or less
  6. Clevinger isn't a twin. What minor league pitcher the twins developed has turned into an above average starter? Drafted or traded for since this FO took over? Until that happens more than once, it is hard to say they are good at it.....
  7. Which Twins drafted pitcher in the last 5 years has turned into an above average starter? Because that's what develop means to me......not trading for guys. And yes, I'd rather have Gore than Lewis.
  8. Boston and the Cubs aren't cutting costs because they don't have enough revenue......MLB teams appear to be owned by owners the least interested in winning of all the sports. (i know you know this, just replying that money isn't really the issue here) Money isn't an issue for most teams, really.....the complete lack of caring if you win, and maximizing profit is the issue (it's an issue if you care about there being better teams, not if you care about the owners making more money, which some here do).
  9. does the capitalist in you believe in teh draft and salary controls and team control of players even if they aren't under contract?
  10. Not according to the owners. The cubs just don't have any money.....
  11. that's how I feel about not buying and holding Tesla......meh. I've doubled my money that I play with, so I can't complain too much.....but 6x would be better.
  12. Schitts creek Escape to the country The boys Gentefied Castlevania
  13. Talked me into some....thanks.
  14. Largest employer in OR.....they better do well!
  15. I came here today only to see if someone made this joke!
  16. Long term I love travel related stocks. At some point, we'll all travel again, regardless of a vaccine or not. Those stocks, the survivors, will go up for sure.
  17. I like: Okta New Relic Shopify Activision Blizzard Amazon Apple Square Slack Zoom (still like them) Pinterest I pretty much like anything that helps with the cloud / internet, remote work, etc. I am TECH HEAVY,
  18. Twelve percent today... Hope you bought it
  19. not pfizer.....fiverr, which continues to plummet.....
  20. Not that I'd ever tell anyone what to do, but I'll type a name here for a random reason. Fiverr.....
  21. Basically for the past 4 months..... I identified 10-20 stocks I like, a lot. Love even. Or, at least the market does. I've bought on dips (as long as there is no news about THAT stock to explain it), and I've sold at 5% profit. This is money dedicated to this effort. I don't recommend this as a strategy for most / anyone else.....but it has worked VERY WELL this year. That's the kind of thing to do with maybe 10% of your portfolio.....the rest should be in long term plays. IMO, of course. As for the "too much money in too few stocks" rubbish. There is plenty of money flowing into the market, across plenty of stocks. There is no bad time to buy, if you have time on your side.
  22. For that reason, I'm not watching college sports this year.
  23. He was in this article...... https://blogs.fangraphs.com/statistical-diamonds-in-the-rough/
