  1. I said I was conflicted, and if he says he won't sign, you don't have a choice (either this year or next) to deal him.
  2. That's a reasonable stance. It all depends on IF they can get young SPs up here that produce this year. Otherwise, I see no path to serious contention next year given the SP and RP they have right now. OTOH, he's worth more with 1.5 years of control than .5 years, I'd think....... I'd want the best SS or SP prospect they can get, plus a middling prospect, plus a flier pitcher prospect.
  3. They'll have even less if Berrios won't sign an extension. If he won't, they should deal him. 100%.
  4. In what I'm sure some will view as a sign of the apocalypse, I agree 100% with this post by MLR....
  5. How do I block a user so I can't see them? Never asked for this until today.....
  6. Apparently Gore can't throw strokes anymore for some reason....
  7. I'm highly conflicted. Clearly, if his side says they won't sign here long term, you deal him, and I think you deal him this year. If there is a chance to realistically keep him, I try to sign him by July. If that doesn't get done, I likely deal him. This team looks very far away right now. ZERO starting pitchers in AAA that look like even number 4/5 types. Who knows about AA and health...... The big issue is their unwillingness to pay top dollar for great pitching, so Berrios might be the best they can hope for anytime soon (and, so far, their inability to develop even a decent starter). If you deal him, where does pitching come from?
  8. Did people say he'd be fully replaced this year? I don't recall that.... That said, if Kiriloff is healthy, he's probably as good.... But to your point, he's not. Now, the question is, can you predict injuries?
  9. Interestingly, that means that Sano has been worse then Arraez....because Sano has accumulated more negative odds in less games......or, more accurately, he's made it more likely they'd lose than Arraez has. I expect Sano to have a slightly positive WPA by the end of the year.
  10. If you want to know what WPA is.... https://library.fangraphs.com/misc/wpa/
  11. win probability added is the best stat for that......how much did he add or detract from the likelihood a team wins.
  12. I agree with this. We aren't perfect. We should strive to be so......
  13. Throwing a baseball at someone because your feelings are hurt isn't brave. Or mature. Or require balls. Or giving a darn. It's sad. If the twins didn't want the sox to play anymore, the twins should have walked off the field and forfeited.
  14. It's not sportsmanship. It's a silly unwritten rule. If he shouldn't try, the twins should walk off and forfeit. Otherwise, he should try.
  15. You realize the best teams are worried about launch angle and exit velocity, right? That this is what Ted Williams preached, with different words?
  16. That's stupid. Swing. These guys get paid based on stats they put up.
  17. He's one of the starters. I'm not sure I understand. Now, if you are asking why they signed two bad starters, that's a good question for a team supposed to compete....
  18. Pitching gurus... Where are you? I was promised pitching gurus....
  19. I don't understand why anyone wants a number 5 starter, and to be happy those expectations are met. I'd want to aim higher. I'm hopeful they move him to the bullpen soon, and give one of the minor league players an extended run.
  20. This is what I want....get experience for some players for 2022......
  21. Does it somehow taste better, or worse, than normal budweiser? because if it tastes like that late inning Twins play....wowsers.
  22. I also expect no heat from the media.......the media is in bed with sports.
  23. This isn't a popular belief, but there isn't always an answer or reason why things happen.....other than the bullpen, this could not have been predicted at all. Sometimes bad stuff just happens.
  24. Which RP and SP do you think he wants more than he has? Including the majors and minors? Or hitters? I mean, the minors are barren other than Thorpe and Jeffers at this point for immediate help.....
  25. I didn't say too long....I said it didn't work...which is how people here seem to judge decisions......and, none of it was personal. You attacked my position, not me. Which is great on a forum. He'd just walked two guys.....people here would be blasting him if he'd left him and it didn't work.....really, there is no good option there given this bullpen. If they had even an average 'pen, making the move there is an easy choice. Frankly, I feel bad for Rocco.....there just aren't good options, and it isn't like he gets to hire these guys, he gets who he gets.
