  1. It's inexcusable. He's been terrible for two years. They have multiple OFers. Just awful.
  2. How so? The worst teams get to add more players before the best teams add one. The money is capped, so the rich can't outbid the others. The money is a bit more, but not much, than teams currently spend in a draft.
  3. Here you go https://mikesixel.com/fixing-the-mlb-draft-part-one/
  4. Really? I guess we'll disagree. It's much better than losing ninety games.
  5. Roster space. Opportunity. Budget. What's the point of bringing him back?
  6. So....I should trust those sites, all of whom have highly regarded Yankees' prospects? Do people read "national writers" to get opinions about prospects? I'm really not sure of your point here. Also, I'd guess Towns would like to be on a winner.
  7. not even one bit. Sano, Donaldson, Rooker, Larnach, Garver all say hello. If they spend money to get better in the short term, it 100% should not be on a DH only. If they go after on batter, it better be a SS.
  8. You think fangraphs, baseball America and Keith law, among others, are somehow tricked by the Yankees into over rating prospects? We'll just disagree on that I guess.
  9. Sure, but that wasn't at all the point of my post.
  10. The Yankees do. Easy. They have two highly rated SS, including one that played a bit at AAA. They also have some pitching.
  11. They're getting a lot more than Joe Ryan for Buxton. Think something like what Berrios brought, if the Twins take back a salary.
  12. It was a joke. Not to be taken seriously. This is, after all, a place to talk about something that has no real bearing on our lives, for fun. I agree with your other post that we should also not drink when people think the twins are stupid. We'd all be dead. Really, it's just not that serious, or shouldn't be, here. Or, it can. I'm ok if others want to take sports seriously.
  13. If they wouldn't go past 100 with incentives, they will never go big on any deal. And, since they've not shown the ability to draft and develop... Good luck to them and the fans.
  14. Winning two division titles now means nothing? How was the team before that?
  15. don't start drinking every time they point out their business experience. We want you around a few more years...
  16. I mean, I've suggested this for years for bad teams...... 2 "real starters", maybe even 1 "bad" one as your fifth pitcher. 7-10 pitchers in the majors and AAA that pitch 3 or so innings each. You need 2-3 of those a game, plus your bullpen. Each pitcher needs less pitches to succeed in this, because the hitters don't see them more than twice, ever. They can go more all out every outing. It is about as likely, or more, to work as having 3 terrible starting pitchers on the roster......maybe even better because you can plan for the short outings.
  17. I'm not sure your point. Every contract is a risk. Or is your point that he's just not a good pitcher, despite the outcomes he's produced? If he's not, who is, and what would a team have to pay them (if they are available)?
  18. If you won't sign younger pitches to long deals.... That leaves older pitchers, and pitchers that aren't as good as your targets. So, you might not get the end of a long deal, but you might be left with only signing old pitchers to short deals, but never having received the younger years..... Or, just signing lesser pitchers.....
  19. Is someone expecting top of the rotation starters, that they need this warning? On what planet might the Twins start Ryan in the minors? I have no idea how that is even an option.
  20. I'm not the least bit worried about him. I have no idea why anyone would be.
  21. I would if I was them, then deal for either Buxton or pitching. I'm thinking the twins take back Hicks in the deal to get more prospects...... Which would be painful on many fronts. That's what I'd want to do if I was ny. ...
