  1. coulda made 16% buying at the trough, and selling at the peak, today.....I'm not overly worried yet.
  2. Very painful two weeks.....oh well. It will eventually come back for me....
  3. Fangraphs has endorsed that pick since it was made.....
  4. Of course, it isn't likely the next batter or two will hit a HR.....so it is likely he's stranded if he only gets to first....but again, lots of stats exist that show relative offensive value....lots.
  5. There are a lot of advanced stats that take into account the value of a walk, vs hit vs 2B, 3B, or HR or out......not sure why people are doing complex math to figure this out.... Arraez is surprisingly valuable for a guy w/o any/much power........but he's no Cruz, not even close.
  6. IMO you can't go wrong on Square
  7. My thoughts: AMC might survive, but I'd not buy it now. I'd pay off private student loans, and wait on public ones, just in case they get elminated (I'd guess 10 - 20K might). That's what I've told my two sons with loans. Both are, of course, still making payments as they have more than 10K.......to drive down the principle. Very low risk investment, with the added psychological benefit of seeing debt go away (also, good for your credit rating)..... I think motley fool stock advisor is a good investment for one year, if you want to get started with new stocks.....
  8. Cool. Hopefully he makes it thru the year healthy.
  9. I'm worried about Lewis' ability to hit enough that I'd say Kiriloff right now.
  10. I need to sell gamestop short or something
  11. I'm a huge fan, but he's not what this team most needs, especially at the opportunity cost of not spending that capital on top pitching.
  12. Sigh.
  13. Wouldn't they be more likely to be in that position if they acquired the great player now?
  14. Name one poster that suggested they spend like the Yankees.....
  15. Was hoping a rookie would take the number 5 spot, or a series of rookies until one stuck......
  16. I hope you all bought fiverr..... wow.
  17. Good question....but that wasn't the point....the person said he wanted a free market, but most people don't want a free market for the draft, once again, screwing the players. So, do you want a free market or not? And if not always, why always pick the owner's side of free markets? I actually have a solution I will post this spring, it is a hybrid system, where the worst teams get more money to spend on players entering the system, ,but no one gets to draft a player and make them go to a system for 6-10 years of no freedom of choice.
  18. My point is simple.....until they do it, we don't know if they can. Nothing more or less than that....but people keep saying he (they are) is good at it, and we just don't know that yet. when I made this point last year, I was told to just wait for 2020 (now, that's a bad year to judge)......so, when? Five years is enough time to have drafted or traded for a minor league pitcher they make into a good starting pitcher.
  19. As for Gore, I merely pointed that out in response to your post.... nothing more or less
  20. Clevinger isn't a twin. What minor league pitcher the twins developed has turned into an above average starter? Drafted or traded for since this FO took over? Until that happens more than once, it is hard to say they are good at it.....
  21. Which Twins drafted pitcher in the last 5 years has turned into an above average starter? Because that's what develop means to me......not trading for guys. And yes, I'd rather have Gore than Lewis.
