    Even with Buxton, that would be an awful defensive OF. Awful. I do agree on Polanco/Arraez, though.

    Dude got hit by a pitch.....not sure what that shows about him being injury prone at all.....of course, before that, sure, he was hurt a ton, but this latest one teaches us nothing. Sometimes you need to take big risks....with Buxton that is either dealing him in the off season, or signing him. I prefer the latter.

    Definitely proving me (and lots of GMs) wrong at this point. He's going to be top 100 on every list next year......this is a great pick by the FO.

    Don't forget, he's getting, what, $5-7MM next year, given how few games he played? Going to $15MM per year next year is a big jump for him in guarantees......Making the next 6 years look even better. If he'd sign for $15MM guaranteed for 7 years, I agree with Brock and Chief....make the incentives almost anything resembling realistic, plus insane ones. Because $15MM 7 years from now is going to look like peanuts for an average player....

    The Padres, as said above, have avoided dealing their best prospects for great players....I can't see the Twins getting any of them back in a deal. As much as I wanted the Twins to draft Gore, he hasn't been able to throw strikes for three years now. That is the definition of HIGH RISK for sure, as he still has great stuff. I'm not convinced the Twins can fix him..... The only way to get Campusano is to include Garver and Rortverdt in the deal, which might not be a horrible idea....but even then, good luck.

    I was just looking at the Mariners' list, and that's the one I want to raid for sure. Berrios for their best SP prospect and one of their top 2 SS prospects, or Pineda for their second best SP prospect....... I agree on Buxton being signed. I don't deal Kepler, unless I'm absolutely blown away. Of course I deal Simmons if possible, along with Happ (agree, PTBNL). If someone will take half of Donaldson's deal and give me a legit prospect, I deal him. But only if I really believe I'll spend the money on SP or SS next year. I keep Garver, unless I can get a legit C prospect for him that is ready next year (like, Garver and Rortverdt for a legit C prospect at AA or AAA, and another good prospect). I'd like to see Miranda and at least 2 minor league starters up after the deadline (Miranda is 3B and DH and maybe 1B). They need to get 1-2 starters ready for next year.

    Twins should be aiming for Seattle's SP prospects.......not sure I like any of the names here. Not sure I like any of the Sox prospects all that much.

    Maybe I'm just in a good mood coming off vacation....but they've been around .500 since the awful start. Add Buxton in there, sign one good SP (or trade for one) and one ok SP, and have the bullpen not implode, and I think that team can compete.

    All these quotes make me optimistic he stays. And I hope he does. I'd like to keep them both, frankly..... But I don't get the same vibe from Berrios.... The incentives need to be relatively easy to obtain.... He's healthy, he gets the huge bucks. He's not, he gets the big bucks. I'm quite shocked that it looks like a long term deal.....

    You must be reading very different scouting reports about his fielding. Who plays left if Larnach is in right?

    If you trade Kepler.... Who plays right? Is there anyone in the system that is an outfielder that can hit and field other than Buxton and Kepler? Not Rooker. Not Larnach. Not Celestino. Why trade him?

    They are. 500 since their bad start. Add Buxton and a good pitcher, replace shoemaker with one of the rookies..... Sure, the last two years he's been negative.... Barely. Ok.... Who can field the corners? Who plays right if he's gone?

    That average is way off. Way off. Also, three gives him another chance at free agency. Most everyone here said if it was 70 that it was four years, now we hear it is seven, and people think it makes sense for Byron?

    Not next year. Lewis won't be starting the year in Minnesota. And none of those corner players are ready other than larnach. Unless you are punting next year.... Then maybe. And Larnach isn't as good as Kepler, and can't back up center.

    They don't have a corner OF that can hit and field either......and Celestino isn't ready. Not even close. If this wasn't a lost year, Max would 100% be in center right now.

    I think dealing Kepler is an awful idea. If Buxton is gone, Max is the CF. NO ONE in AAA, maybe AA, can both hit and field at this point (for an OF). Kepler can. Larnach probably isn't a good fielder either. I don't get trading Kepler at all.

    If I'm Bryon, I want 12-15 guaranteed....then easy incentives to get to 20, then more to get to 25-27....... I still think he's dealt in the off season, gets an arbitration number, then goes to FA and gets 3/75 or so.

    They really need a SS, IF they can find a trade partner with a top SS prospect, that should be considered.

    I would really like a good SS prospect in a trade......but there aren't really any at AA or above on a contender (unless Groshans can stick.....so, next up I want SP and another catcher. I'd include Rortverdt in a deal to get a better catching prospect back (plus the pitcher).....

    They took an awful pitching staff, and won the division two years in a row, making the starters top 10 in the majors both years. How quickly we forget. Really.

    Laughably low offer on the base. Smells like previous efforts to sign free agents that weren't market value.....
