  1. Fair, but that post I responded to said Martin would never do anything in the majors pretty much......We all have our preferences, but really?
  2. I will also. No matter what they get, I'll be very disappointed they deal him. I truly think this roster can compete next year, with some luck in the bullpen, and by signing or trading for a legit SP or two.
  3. I would have loved Abrams for sure......I just didn't think he was available. Also, the Pads have no SP I know I want....
  4. I think this is 100% unfair in this deal. Berrios was clear he was going to FA next year. They got a top 20 prospect, and a top 50-60 prospect, both in AA. I get being cynical, but this is not a good take, imo.
  5. I want them to keep Buxton, very much. I'd have to be 100% BLOWN AWAY to trade him. He's a legit difference maker, in a sport where that is hard to be.
  6. I think he's insurance at CF, SS, and maybe LF.......I hope they sign Buxton. I don't want a full blow up.
  7. Given FG and mlb.com have Martin in their top 25 overall, I think you are low on him. This is his first year in professional baseball, and he's hitting well (not great) in AA, and playing both SS and CF.......
  8. both are in AA....and Fangraphs and MLB.com projects Martin to play in teh majors next year.....
  9. MLB.com has Martin 16th, Fangrapsh 23rd.........that's a real hitter who can play CF and maybe SS.
  10. Wow.....2 players Fangraphs has in the top 50 of all the minors! That's a haul......
  11. Fangraphs likes him, but he's been not GREAT this year......unlucky in outcomes, and supposedly a mid-rotation piece. In other words, Berrios-ish, maybe more Pineda, in 2 years or so.
  12. Here is the Fangraphs board, filtered to the Jays. https://www.fangraphs.com/prospects/the-board/2021-in-season-prospect-list/summary?sort=-1,1&team=tor
  13. I agree they have over drafted LH corner OFers that can't field the OF........ My thoughts are that if Buxton is out for a week or so, Kepler is a decent CF option. He's not playing there this year because Buxton is out longer, and the season is lost. Kepler can also field RF. I don't think any of their other ML or AA or AAA OFers field and hit. Also, Kepler is hitting slightly above league average this year, after being hurt and not playing well. I expect 3 or so WAR next year out of him.....Kiriloff is the 1B of the future. Larnach probably should DH, but is the LF (hoping he can improve somehow..... in the field.....).
  14. I think fans vastly undervalue Kepler. And this team would miss him. I see almost zero chance Berrios doesn't hit free agency, given his quotes. So I can't see an extension.
  15. I didn't say they were good decisions..... But that they used the money. It's pretty clear he wanted out. It wasn't a good trade..... But lots of teams have traded guys like this and used those players to build good teams. If the Twins deal Berrios, they could do very well, or badly, or in between. I'd only deal him if I was extremely confident I was getting at least two legit MLB players back, or one superstar type. Not that that is a guarantee, but that's what I'd want.
  16. You're willing to trade Kepler and Donaldson, who are signed longer than Berrios? How is trading Berrios blowing everything up?
  17. Oops. I'd love to re-sign him next year, or even to an extension this year.
  18. 2? He's made it very clear he wants to test free agency. He's not signing a one year deal unless he's hurt. Unless you are counting this year. I don't take a lousy offer either, no way. I don't think they do either.
  19. This ignores, as stated above, that the Twins used that money to resign players. And that Santana had no interest in being in Minnesota. If they can get great prospects back, I'm ok if the deal Berrios. He wants at least twenty million per year. And has been clear he will test free agency.
  20. Who? Who can play d and hit? Who can backup center in a season that isn't lost? No one in this system. Not next year.
  21. Kepler is outhitting the average MLB player this year. Is he great? No. But he's not the issue everyone seems to think.
