The interesting thing about this to me is that is SEEMS LIKE THEY REALLY SPENT A LOT, but it turns out they didn't really increase payroll that much. Also, they are 17th in opening day payroll right now, so they didn't exactly bump it way up near the top 10-12 at all. That's an observation, btw, not a judgement. Next year? Lots of money coming off again next year.
