It's time to retire the "angry for the sake of it" gimmick
LambchoP commented on William Malone's blog entry in William Malone IV blogs about Twins
We have every right to complain after that pathetic excuse of a game today against the WSox. Buxton and Correa quitting in the 3rd inning? No fight at all to this team, I would never pay money to watch this excuse of a team. -
It's too bad Eeles is hurt, this could have been his chance this year. Wonder what his return to timeline is, same with Keaschal playing the field. After watching the three pathetic offensive clunkers this weekend it sure looks like we're gonna need all the help we can get ...

So far Wili and Larnach are the only ones hitting.
-
Offense looks terrible aside from Larnach. Wallner, Correa and Buxton 0-24. No wonder we're winless. Looks like Correa is hitting everything into the ground again If he keeps this up I wouldn't be surprised if he leads the league in grounding into double plays again. Twins baseball baby!

I'd wait to see how this year plays out. Will he hit like first half Jeffers or second half Jeffers of last year? He's not great defensively so he'll need to stay healthy and hit well to be of bvalue.

Wallner hit 30+ HR's while hitting less than .240.

An actual plan at the trade deadline would help a lot too. If we are competitive and have a clear hole or two to fill, then they need to go out and fill it. Unlike last year when they picked up the nobody reliever literally just to show they did something.

Aging Gracefully: How Buxton Retires a Minnesota Twin
LambchoP replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think he'll need to have really healthy seasons up until his contract is up if we're to extend him. Maybe give him a cheap base salary with plenty of incentives to make more money based on games played. That way the deal doesn't sink us if he's always hurt. With guys like Jenkins, Rodriguez, Keaschal, Rosario and Mccusker coming up Buck will have to outproduce some younger guys in order to get playing time .. -
Minnesota Twins 2025 Season Preview: Good or Great?
LambchoP replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
As usual, it will all come down to health. All you've got to do these days is MAKE the postseason and then anything can happen :) Happy opening day!- 30 replies

I was also thinking if he stays healthy and effective, but we also have someone in AAA banging down the door for a call up, maybe we could aquire a bat for Paddack at the deadline before he inevitably goes down....

2025 Sire of Fort Myers Coronation
LambchoP replied to Tom Froemming's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Morales looked real good this spring. Will be interesting to see if he can keep hitting like this in AAA for any length of time. If Lewis and Lee continue to battle injuries, it couldn't hurt to have someone like him available who can hit:)- 14 replies

Keirsey, Julien and Gaspar Make Opening Day Roster
LambchoP commented on LA Vikes Fan's blog entry in LA Vikes Fan
As long as Lee is only out for the minimum, then he can take the roster spot of Julien when he returns. -
With Lewis, Lee and Gasper all hurt, our infield is starting to look pretty shaky, especially defensively. Hopefully Rocco starts Castro at 2nd more than Julien because a right side infield of Julien and France is a disaster waiting to happen. As for our "best bullpen in baseball" lol, we now don't have enough quality relievers. Too bad we lost Henriquez and Headrick for nothing. Blewitt might be ok in the short term, but even when Stewart comes back he's not going to last. Maybe we can pick someone up from outside the org. As far as Eeles goes, why isn't he playing this spring? He should have been one of our best infield options once Lewis and Lee went down....?

Bummer about Gasper. While his defense at 2nd wasn't great, he was better than Julien. Plus he looked decent behind the plate and his bat looked like it would play just fine at the major league level. With him, Lee and Lewis out we may see Julien and Martin making the team. This defense is going to be BAD. What's up with Eeles? Has he played at all this spring? Why isn't his name in the IF conversation? Hopefully Keaschal can play the field soon because it seems our infield desperately needs him asap. France and Julien on the right side may be the worst defensive tandem in baseball. That does not bode well for our pitchers :(

A lot of people are big on his velo, which we've seen touch 100mph. While that is nice, his fastball is very straight which means its easier to hit. And with that velo when it does get hit, it gets hit hard. If he can find a way to get some movement on his pitches and develop a good offspeed pitch, maybe he can be a solid reliever. I am glad they finally are putting him in the pen fulltime. He is cooked as a starter and has been for awhile. I wish him the best of luck, you can never have to many weapons out there in the pen...

American League Central Preview: Cleveland Guardians
LambchoP replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Looking at the team rosters side by side, we should have the better team. As we've learned, you never overlook CLE. They seem to always get the most out of their players while the Twins guys see extended slumps and injuries. The AL Central should be real interesting this year with all teams except CHI looking to win the division.- 14 replies

Royce Lewis, Byron Buxton Expected to Platoon on IL
LambchoP replied to RandBalls Stu's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This may be satire, but unfortunately I think it's a very strong possibility that Lewis Buxton and Correa all play musical chairs with the IL throughout the year. This will be nothing new, the season this year and every year will be determined by our ability to weather all of their IL time. -
I think a mid-market team like the Twins can probably rely on one, maybe two injury prone guys in the lineup. Three, definitely not. If every single year we have Lewis, Buxton and Correa missing half the season it's going to cripple the rest of the roster. I say get whatever production we can out of Lewis until he's a free agent while also looking for our third baseman of the future .
-
I think a combination of the television debacle, most people not even able to watch the team combined with cutting payroll immediately after finally winning a playoff series set fan morale waaay back. Continued penny pinching and not making any meaningful changes to the roster year after year hurts too. Even more so when you consider the guys we need to rely on to win, Buxton, Correa and Lewis, are never on the field.... When your best players are always hurt and it's business as usual to have both or all three out of the lineup on the same day, why would anyone want to pay big money for tickets to watch a bunch of backups and utility players lose to teams we should be able to beat?

Minnesota Twins 2025 Position Analysis: Relief Pitcher
LambchoP replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think if we end up needing some bullpen depth guys like Prelipp, Morris and Raya could make their debuts in the pen and be a big help this year, before going back to starting next year. Our bullpens effectiveness is going to be directly related to how deep our SP can go.- 20 replies
