Are the Front Office's Jobs Secure?
John Belinski replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I was a fan of Terry Ryan He was a hands-on front office person. He knew talent and went to a lot of games to find baseball players. He did not have the payroll to work with or the Twins would have won a lot more games. He could have left the Twins for another team for a higher payday, but he was a Twins fan. He was one of the last hands-on front office people who knew players.- 79 replies

Jeffers is really having a good year and should be playing more. Duran pitching is certainly a concern. All good teams need a good closer and Duran has been having problems, but Twins do not really have another good choice.

It was a good win, but they were playing a bad team. Twins lose game if Rocco doesn't pinch hit for Gallo since Gallo would strike out. This was almost a must win game after losing 5 in a row.

The Twins could trade him for a bag of used baseballs, but do not think they would get that much.

Instant Reaction: Twins Pass on Trade Deadline
John Belinski replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
What a disappointment that the front office did nothing. There is just no excuse for not adding one or two players to help Twins win during the balance of the season and during the playoffs. Guess the front office is willing to wait for players to come back from IL, but that is unknown if and when they will come back. Fans certainly should be disappointed with the front office for not trying to help improve team.- 49 replies

He is certainly better than several pitchers we now have. Hard to understand they let him walk, but that is not a surprise with the Twins front office. It makes no sense that they did not trade him if they were not going to keep him since he pitched well in AAA. They should have added a right handed batter to help win games during the balance of the season. Front office did nothing to help Twins win. Twins have 4 or 5 left handed outfielders that can not play at the same time and needed to add a right handed batter. Twins fans deserve better front office and not one that does nothing.

No way Duran is their best player. No good closer walks 2 weak hitters and then pitches to good hitter. Those 2 walks should have been outs and game over.

No way is Duran their best player. Just look at his record. He has long way to go before becoming a good closer. Good closers do not walk 2 weak hitters.

No good closer walks 2 batters with low batting averages. Duran has got long way to go before he becomes a good closer. Twins have had some really good closers over the years and to be a winning team a good closer is a must. The Yankees had a great closer when they were a winning team and every winning team needs a good closer.

Sometimes the Twins win a game they should have lost and last night they lost a game they should have won. They signed a veteran pitcher and he is pitching well for the Saints so why not bring him up to Twins. He would have not have walked 2 batters and Twins would have won game. It seems odd that the bullpen catcher can not see that the pitcher that is warming up isn't throwing strikes. We all know(except Rocco) that Pagan can pitch well when there is no pressure and can not pitch under pressure.

I think we will trade Gray to a team that wants to win this year and get a hitter to help the Twins win. Some team that either needs short term pitching help to win their division or a team that will resign Gray to long term contract

Finally Rocco moved Buxton from 3 spot, but Buxton should be on IR list until he is 100%. Twins just can not have a automatic out from a batter. I can not remember when Buxton got his last hit, but Rocco keeps saying that Buxton is healthy and ready to play. Twins won 2 games without Buxton in lineup and hope Rocco will put his best hitters in lineup. It just appears that Buxton is not at or close to 100% so should go on IR and come back healthy so be can help Twins win games.

It was great to see the Twins with a good hitter in 3 spot who got 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Put Buxton on IR until he is ready to play. I know Rocco keeps saying Buxton is ready to play, but it is easy to see that Buxton is not all right when he is batting below .200 and strikes out 2 or 3 times a game.

Byron Buxton's Clock Is Ticking
John Belinski replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Last night the Twins had a hitter in 3 spot who had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Twins will not win with Buxton batting in 3 spot with average below .200. Just do not understand why Buxton isn't on the IR list so he can get healthy and help the Twins rather than hurting Twins. Something has to be not normal with him since he just doesn't look right at the plate.- 52 replies

Mariners 7, Twins 6: Sonny Gray Boils Down
John Belinski replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It just does not make any sense to bat Buxton in 3 spot! Last night he was 0-5 with 3 strikeouts and 6 runners LOB. Twins could have won game with some help from Buxton, but something is wrong with him. I guess Rocco will never change his lineup and bat Buxton at bottom of lineup. Buxton should be on IR and let someone else be DH.- 65 replies

I know that Lee is young, but other young players have played in the majors and been good players. The Twins do not really have a good player to play 3rd base so is Lee worth a try?

Week in Review: Winning Ugly in Oakland
John Belinski replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Maybe someone should ask him why is Buxton the DH or why is Buxton batting in 3 spot? Ask Rocco a hard question to get a answer as to why Buxton is even playing since he is hurting team. NO other manager in baseball would have a .200 hitter batting in 3 spot, but that tells people why Rocco is a poor manager.- 37 replies

Twins Fantasy Fix (7/16): A leadoff launching pad?
John Belinski replied to Mike Rose's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
When is Rocco going to drop Buxton to the bottom of lineup? No other manager would have a .200 hitter batting in 3 spot. Put Buxton on IR since he is just not helping team and is actually hurting team.- 3 replies
