  1. Luis will be missed by the fans. However, give to get. I am still thinking Kepler will be tied with Austin for a RH OF. This puts Miranda in play for 1B and Farmer at 3B until Royce comes back and slots in most likely at 3B. Kiroloff, Polanco, Miranda and Correa around the IN. With Lewis looking to move in at 3B and Lee could be 2B. 1B/DH will be Kirolff, Miranda, Gallo, with Correa taking a breather from the field at times along with Buxton. the other piece is that 3/5 of the rotation is a FA after 2022. Lopez and Paddack are locked in longer so there is some future stability projected
  2. Wasn't Garlick DFA'd? He would have to be added back to the 40 man if he makes the roster or did I miss this.
  3. Great option. If the price is a Single A or AA prospect that won't hurt this is a low risk-high reward move that could pay big dividends.
  4. I agree that he is fun to watch. However if we want pitching we have to give. His skill set is a gap to gap slap hitter and needs to hit .310-.320 to keep his OBS up there. He is limited on defense and thus is expendaple. His knees are a concern, but if we could get a Lopez for a package with Arraez as the lead we need to do this. The Cruz trade was a very good one for the Twins. We all loved Cruz, but the package we received in return was very good and we gave him a shot to pursue a title. I would love to see a Blockbuster where we send Arraez, Kepler and Martin to the Marlins for Lopez and Luzardo
  5. Now we can see a trade coming. Kepler along with either Polanco or Araez will go to Miami for Lopez. They just signed Cueto to take the spot in the rotation. Farmer becomes the utility man
  6. A hard cap would help as well
  7. A lot of teams draft SS as they are often the most athletic player on teams and then move them around. I think one playoff team, not sure who, had 7 in their starting lineup last year that were drafted as SS's.
  8. I would like to see Fullmer and Hand added to the BP. Eovaldi would be nice, but price is a question mark. I am in the minority and like the Gallo signing IF Kepler is dealt. Both are winners with the shift going away - and I think Gallo is a better defender and maybe will be allowed to run when he walks. I would like to see us add Brandon Drury as he can play all over the INF and gives us some RH pop at DH
  9. This signing must be paired with a trade of Kepler/Larnach/Austin/Arraez If not it makes no sense. The shift ban will help Gallo and his ability to walk will be a bonus. His K rate will annoy most like Sano did. Arraez is one I don't want to see go the most, but his knees will shorten his career no doubt - we will have to let someone go we like, but that is the price to pay for #1 or 2 to slot into our rotation
  10. Arreaz and Kepler for Lopez would hurt as both hitters will benefit from the shift ban, more so Kepler. However pitching is needed and it will hurt to acquire it.
  11. I may be in the minority, but I don't think Sale fits the bill as an ACE. He is oft injured as well and the juice would not be worth the squeeze for the price we would pay. Now Glasnow - that is worth Kepler and Martin, or possibly Arraez. Arraez is amazing, but those Tony O knees will shorten his career
  12. The pitcher can go over a 3rd time, but an unsuccessful attempt results in a basically a balk as the runner gets bumped
  13. I have hopes that Correa opts in to prove his "down" year was just that. Judge is a dream, as it would allow the Twins to deal Kepler for more pitching. Realistically, I am not sure if any of them sign -but then if you would have told me we would sign Correa last winter I might still be laughing, so anything is possible. We will need a C though as well. Sano we all know is gone, but Kepler, Palacios and Gordon - along with one top pitching prospect will need to be used to secure some arms and maybe a 1B with Kiriloff being a question mark now
  14. I think we sign him up for 10 years and then we talk.................hopefully these moves get us into the postseason and Carlos sees the future that is her and those coming (Lewis will be utility, or dumped - sorry but his injury history bugs me so they need to move him around the IF, to RF or flip him) but we have some things building..............need to get a C in the off season though and another P
  15. I agree that Urshela is not part of the future, but has been needed this year. If we can get a RP for him, then dump him. The Kepler injury will make this decision easy if he is on the IL. If not, then Garlick will be sent down as he has options left IF Sano gets hot then a tough decision to make as he can carry a club - but would be then ripe to part with as he needs to go.
  16. We have to give to get - but we can't afford a rental and sacrifice the next 4-6 years. Austin Martin would have been a great chip to flip, but has regressed. Steer and maybe now Wallner has pushed into that category. Larnach or Kiriloff may need to be part of the package, and with Larnach now hurt his value is down. I am hoping Kiriloff stays. Kepler may draw some interest.
  17. He can hold down the fort until we go get a b/u for Sanchez
  18. Agree about Lynn. The Pressley trade is one that wasn't popular at the time - but will prove to be a win for both teams which is good. No one wanted to see Dozier leave, but him leading off a WS for the Dodgers and then getting ring with the Nationals was good to see - and Smeltzer has a shot to provide the asset we needed from this deal
  19. With the requirement that each team have a representative, I am thinking neither will make it. Arraez is the clear pick with C-4 having a shot as well.
  20. Prospects will be the way to an impact deal. Kepler/Urhela may get you a reliever rental. Martin and Miranda may get the A's or Reds talking
  21. Miranda or Gordon should be the casualty to get Kiriloff back to Target......
  22. I agree that Soto is up due to both Polanco and Gordon nursing injuries. When both are healthy Soto will be DFA 'd and Gordon should got to AAA. Don't need him in the OF and Arreaz can move around the infield if needed.............I like Nick, but he is expendable and might be a throw in for a deal for a SP/RP
  23. I do believe he is one that will need to be in a deal. Royce Lewis made himself almost untouchable, and without Correa secured beyond this year Lewis has to stay. We will need to overpay, but need to be careful as one SP won't get us to the end goal. However, a controllable top third of the order pitcher will come with a price of Martin+.
