  1. Overpaid? Not sure, as this tandem is an upgrade over last year. I am inclined to think some of the pitching improvements need to be credited to Vasquez as well. We are getting what we paid for, just hoping for a little moew.
  2. Duran is unavailable today due to an immigration issue to clear up - so used him instead of others
  3. Don't need a sweep - just win series as that is the key to a successful season
  4. Keeping Kepler was a huge mistake, and made even bigger with the signing of Gallo. Gordon teased with the 2nd half last year, but that looks to be his ceiling. We need Kiriloff and Farmer more over those two and Castro is next in line, but we can't have Wallner just sitting on the bench not playing, Then you have Julien, Lee, Lewis knocking on the door with Martin hoping to rebound and more tough decisions. They may need to package some young talent with Kepler at some point Maeda needs to go to the pen and Ober needs to stick in rotation.
  5. Kepler and Gordon are not part of the future plan. Gordon has Lewis, Julien,Lee and Martin coming behind him. Julien most likely will need to move to RF/1B/DH. Kepler should have been traded in the off season
  6. No way Larnach goes down. They need him. Kepler is the man on the outside and they may try and sneak Gordon through waivers and deal him to a claiming team
  7. If they reinstate Gallo, then I think you see Garlick head down. I would love to cut ties with the overrated Gordon, but right now someone would claim him. Gallo will then see time in LF as well as 1b, with Larnach going RF/LF. When Polanco comes up then we will see who survives between Gordon and Castro. Hopefully we can trade Gordon for a low level prospect as by mid season we have see both Lewis and Lee and then Castro is gone as well. Donny bats needs to stay.
  8. Gordon needs to go. We missed on trading him and Kepler in the offseason. Now, we may not have been offered much so maybe a trade wasn't to be had. Gordon will be passed over by many and I don't think has much value. If given the choice not many would pick Gordon to be your 2B over any of Polanco, Julien, Lewis
  9. Hoping it was 1st game jitters with Julien, but his D at second was not good - needs to look at RF
  10. The lineup was not good today. Even without Buxton and Correa. NO WAY should Gordon be hitting 4th. I am not a fan of Gordon and was hoping we would trade him before the season. Farmer, Wallner, anyone would have been a better option at cleanup. The boys battled and Kenta and the pen threw well. Gordon and Castro need to go away soon. Hurry back Jorge
  11. Although I have had my fill of Sano, I would agree with this one. sign him to a minor league deal and when he gets in a hot streak you bring him back to the bigs. Low risk, high reward potential.
  12. Polanco needs to play and then the plan should be to trade him to open up 2B
  13. Hoping he rebounds and is part of a midseason trade package with Gordon
  14. I disagree on Gordon - we will be gone either this year or next as well as Martin. I believe both will end up traded
  15. I see a good chance that Gordon is a trade chip in spring training with the addition of Taylor and some prospects that aren't far away over in St. Paul
  16. I believe they are taking a gamble that some of these will remain for a few more weeks when they can move Paddock and Lewis to the 60 day IL and create room on the 40 man. Just a hunch
  17. Luis will be missed by the fans. However, give to get. I am still thinking Kepler will be tied with Austin for a RH OF. This puts Miranda in play for 1B and Farmer at 3B until Royce comes back and slots in most likely at 3B. Kiroloff, Polanco, Miranda and Correa around the IN. With Lewis looking to move in at 3B and Lee could be 2B. 1B/DH will be Kirolff, Miranda, Gallo, with Correa taking a breather from the field at times along with Buxton. the other piece is that 3/5 of the rotation is a FA after 2022. Lopez and Paddack are locked in longer so there is some future stability projected
  18. Wasn't Garlick DFA'd? He would have to be added back to the 40 man if he makes the roster or did I miss this.
  19. Great option. If the price is a Single A or AA prospect that won't hurt this is a low risk-high reward move that could pay big dividends.
  20. I agree that he is fun to watch. However if we want pitching we have to give. His skill set is a gap to gap slap hitter and needs to hit .310-.320 to keep his OBS up there. He is limited on defense and thus is expendaple. His knees are a concern, but if we could get a Lopez for a package with Arraez as the lead we need to do this. The Cruz trade was a very good one for the Twins. We all loved Cruz, but the package we received in return was very good and we gave him a shot to pursue a title. I would love to see a Blockbuster where we send Arraez, Kepler and Martin to the Marlins for Lopez and Luzardo
  21. Now we can see a trade coming. Kepler along with either Polanco or Araez will go to Miami for Lopez. They just signed Cueto to take the spot in the rotation. Farmer becomes the utility man
  22. A hard cap would help as well
  23. A lot of teams draft SS as they are often the most athletic player on teams and then move them around. I think one playoff team, not sure who, had 7 in their starting lineup last year that were drafted as SS's.
  24. I would like to see Fullmer and Hand added to the BP. Eovaldi would be nice, but price is a question mark. I am in the minority and like the Gallo signing IF Kepler is dealt. Both are winners with the shift going away - and I think Gallo is a better defender and maybe will be allowed to run when he walks. I would like to see us add Brandon Drury as he can play all over the INF and gives us some RH pop at DH
