  1. I would agree with the fact he has earned the FA attempt and should try and get that final payday. To be clear, I think any offer the Twins make will have to be significantly above others in $$ or years for him to come back and be a 5-6 inning pitcher every start
  2. Rocco is the reason that Sony won't even entertain a new contract with the Twins. Needs a longer leash for sure - he of any of the SP has earned it. The short leash, weakens the overall bullpen and keeps the train going back and forth from St. Paul. Rocco needs to have more trust in the SP and how they feel and not the numbers on a sheet.
  3. Chapman from KC would be a great get - but he gets more expensive the closer the deadline gets. KC is in a major rebuild and maybe a couple of low level prospects might do the trick - waiting until the end of July and the talent required to get him will be much higher
  4. Not giving up on Julien, just looking at options. I would take him over Gallo, based on age. I was not a fan of the Gallo signing, but he does play top tier defense and gives pop. Rooker will fade after the hot start most likley, hope not but water eventually finds it's level. Miranda and Larnach are disappointments yes, and new scenery may help. Wallner will be here soon as I think Keplers leash is out to run out.
  5. I don't want him to go for a rental - however we don't know the state of the SP at that time and if they could get someone under contract to help the rotation that would be good. Gray is a FA and will test the market. Mahle is as well, but TJ will take away most of his year. Rotation for 2024 is Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Varland, Paddock w/Winder, SWR and others in the wings so not bad. I am hoping a 3 year extension for Sony is offered and thus we can be stingy with a trade. A CF under contract would be the best fit though. With Miranda, Lewis, Lee, Martin, Julien looking to come up that makes a logjam. Polanco becomes the other chip, and has been injured a bit, but he provides such a spark and makes a difference in our lineup I would like him signed. Unless Lewis or Martin can be an everyday CF, and I am doubting Lewis is going there. Something will have to give at some point.
  6. Julien may be a prime candidate for the Twins to flip in a trade. The bat and walks will entice someone for a young prospect and I think he is more expendable then the others at this time. Miranda may turn into a 1B/3B option but needs work as well, or trade. One of the two may end up being a centerpiece to a deadline deal.
  7. I don't think Chapman would be worth the price we would have to pay for a rental. Burnes is intriguing with the additional year of control. I hold out hope that Sony Gray signs back as well. Burnes might cost us Miranda/Martin. Hader is a luxury and won't come cheap. But would be a solid addition. Maybe SD tries to dump some salary if they are still below expectations later in the season, but I am guessing this would be an expensive rental as well..
  8. The agree on the Sony Gray deal - but I want to talk about the bad Dyson - 100% agree Mahle - I would still do that trade. Twins have a logham of infielders and so parting with a couple was a good dael. Maeda - tough one. Graterol is good and bad, Trade looked really good early, then now unsure. But I would say a wash. Paddock - Rooker makes this look rough now, but NO ONE saw that coming. This will depend on how Paddock rebounds. I like the trade, just the timing was not good. Lopez - for Areaz is a deal you make every time it is offered.
  9. Castro, Solano and Gordon should be gone by the All-Star break. Castro or Solano are gone when Farmer is back. Lewis will make the other expendable and Gordon takes on the Castro bench role until an injury and then Castro comes up from AAA. We are a better team with Farmer, Lee, and insert another prospect here over Castro, Solano and Gordon
  10. I would also expect a veteran added to this mix at some point. The log jam in the infield with Miranda, Polanco and with, Lewis, Lee, Julien and Martin coming, along with the Larnach, Kepler, Wallner pile up should produce a trade. I would expect Martin, Kepler and possible Miranda or Wallner to be flipped with Lewis or Julien moving to RF at some point.
  11. Rosario had the one shining moment in the postseason. We are better off with our current rotation of Larnach and Kiriloff
  12. Overpaid? Not sure, as this tandem is an upgrade over last year. I am inclined to think some of the pitching improvements need to be credited to Vasquez as well. We are getting what we paid for, just hoping for a little moew.
  13. Duran is unavailable today due to an immigration issue to clear up - so used him instead of others
  14. Don't need a sweep - just win series as that is the key to a successful season
  15. Keeping Kepler was a huge mistake, and made even bigger with the signing of Gallo. Gordon teased with the 2nd half last year, but that looks to be his ceiling. We need Kiriloff and Farmer more over those two and Castro is next in line, but we can't have Wallner just sitting on the bench not playing, Then you have Julien, Lee, Lewis knocking on the door with Martin hoping to rebound and more tough decisions. They may need to package some young talent with Kepler at some point Maeda needs to go to the pen and Ober needs to stick in rotation.
  16. Kepler and Gordon are not part of the future plan. Gordon has Lewis, Julien,Lee and Martin coming behind him. Julien most likely will need to move to RF/1B/DH. Kepler should have been traded in the off season
  17. No way Larnach goes down. They need him. Kepler is the man on the outside and they may try and sneak Gordon through waivers and deal him to a claiming team
  18. If they reinstate Gallo, then I think you see Garlick head down. I would love to cut ties with the overrated Gordon, but right now someone would claim him. Gallo will then see time in LF as well as 1b, with Larnach going RF/LF. When Polanco comes up then we will see who survives between Gordon and Castro. Hopefully we can trade Gordon for a low level prospect as by mid season we have see both Lewis and Lee and then Castro is gone as well. Donny bats needs to stay.
  19. Gordon needs to go. We missed on trading him and Kepler in the offseason. Now, we may not have been offered much so maybe a trade wasn't to be had. Gordon will be passed over by many and I don't think has much value. If given the choice not many would pick Gordon to be your 2B over any of Polanco, Julien, Lewis
  20. Hoping it was 1st game jitters with Julien, but his D at second was not good - needs to look at RF
  21. The lineup was not good today. Even without Buxton and Correa. NO WAY should Gordon be hitting 4th. I am not a fan of Gordon and was hoping we would trade him before the season. Farmer, Wallner, anyone would have been a better option at cleanup. The boys battled and Kenta and the pen threw well. Gordon and Castro need to go away soon. Hurry back Jorge
  22. Although I have had my fill of Sano, I would agree with this one. sign him to a minor league deal and when he gets in a hot streak you bring him back to the bigs. Low risk, high reward potential.
  23. Polanco needs to play and then the plan should be to trade him to open up 2B
  24. Hoping he rebounds and is part of a midseason trade package with Gordon
