  1. Julien may be the next to go as well...........with some depth, he may be intriguing for others for an SP
  2. Arreaz has a non-valued skill set in todays MLB. Put that in along with a below average defender and it was a great trade for MN. It will also help replenish the MIA farm system. His ability to get on base may play with SD as they have boppers to follow. I loved him, but was the most valuable piece we had and the FO did well in trading him.
  3. I think we go with Martin as the primary CF, and use Margot for a day off. Castro is too valuable all over the diamond.
  4. DL for Bux would bring Martin back up...............not really another option at AAA as Wallner is still not hitting.
  5. Wish it would have been Jackson. Maybe he slips through waivers.
  6. I was happy with how Martin performed, but I think the Twins will use this as a showcase and he will be packaged with Kepler soon for a backend of the rotation pitcher. This could change if SWR proves capable, but another starter depth would be good. The timing of this may well depend on how Wallner performs in AAA. If he gets hot, then I think the trade talks heat up. Varland should be in the pen for the remainder of his career. He will be a big leaguer if he accepts that, but I don't see him in a rotation.
  7. Who will be taken off the current roster when they come back. I heard on talk radio that Miranda may go down for Correa. I would prefer to release Margot as Martin has proven he can play the OF. Not sure what bullpen arms leave as Toppa will be ready soon as well. Thielbar, Bosman, Funderburk???
  8. It would be a 4 or 5 spot - but he is a FA at season end. With the youth arriving, I think Wallner would be his replacement if he starts making more contact. We need to sell as high as we can on Max as he won't be brought back
  9. When Correa comes back, I would expect Margo to be DFA's and then when Royce returns Sanata will go. Keeping Martin, Larnach and Miranda. Another injury scuttles this though.. Additionally I think that if Kepler gets hot he will be unloaded for a back end of the rotation arm.
  10. Varland should come back in the pen, but our lack of depth may require him to be stretched out for rotation. Varland';s future is in the BP I think, as he was much better there last year
  11. Remember Steer was in this mix at one time as well
  12. Although hard to disagree with the assessments - I love Polanco, but we shouldn't miss a beat with Julien/Farmer/Lee. If Polanco plays more games then Julien by staying healthy, then this could be debated - but I am doubting that. Arraez is missed, but Pablo is more valuable so that trade happens everyday and twice on Sunday's is asked to do it again
  13. Would be awesome to have all of this come through as the need to part with top prospects to get a #1 pitcher to go with Pablo may end up being the need to push this team to a WS contender
  14. If Severino does just that, then Lee or Martin will be great pieces to trade
  15. I would love to see Martin and Larnach packaged for middle of rotation or higher starter
  16. Not disagreeing completely, but what if he turns into an injury prone clone of Buxton...........................................................
  17. Agree with all of this. Much prefer to have Farmer and/or Castro on the roster over Gordon.
  18. Gordon had a moment of success. Thompson is controllable and can play a different role. Gordon is a short timer as etiher being DFA'd or traded.
  19. I would rather have Thompson than Gordon if that is what it comes down too.
  20. Martin could be a good second piece of a trade to get that SP we are looking for.
  21. Josh Donaldson!!!!!!! No way - he is a clubhouse killer and a waste of money
  22. It will take more than Lee..............just not sure how much. I am thinking SWR and a lower level prospect for either.
  23. Yes - Lee for Lopez would have been a deal I would have done. Agreed, everyone wants pitching so the price will be high to acquire. But with so many young players, adding a quality #2 starter seems the thing to do
  24. To make an impact trade and take advantage of the talent we have, talent will need to go. If it takes Lee to secure a #2 starter with control -- then you do it. If not Lee, then Julien, Martin, and other young prospects will need to go.,
