  1. I hate to say this, but it might be time for Wallner to take Kiriloff's place on the roster. If one were RH it would make things much easier.
  2. or Buxton, or Jeffers. I understand Vasquez hit a bomb and Jeffers needs days off, so that I can live with. But Buxton and Lewis off on the same day has me questioning Rocco more and more. I get keeping them healthy, and if you are thinking we can't beat the Yankees anyway, then ok. But they have off days, and you can rest one before the off day and one after and better manage your lineup. Plus stop it with all of the early pinch hitting!!
  3. I do hope they collapse, but I do not believe the Tigers and Royals are better then them. They have had a weaker schedule (Twins are included in that), but have also navigated some injuries. I think the Twins will make a run at them but they are clearly the top two in the division. The others have closed the gap, but have not passed.
  4. I hope you are right and I am wrong, but I don't see Lee as "that guy" I would much prefer he be packaged along with Wallner and Varland for Luzardo
  5. I think it will be Miranda at 1B, and either Julian/Lee will be part of a trade if not this year in the offseason
  6. If Julien is going down, who will be the every day 2b? Farmer? I agree with this being the choice for a demotion, but wonder on lineup construction?
  7. I would like to see Margot get DFA'd as Kiriloff can play the OF. However, I could see a trade of Larnach/Kiriloff/Wallner happening as well.
  8. I agree with this a majority of the time and feel it is a huge reason Sonny didn't resign along with the $$$. I am ok with yesterday as an off day allowed full use of the BP and a win was needed. Had he left him in and Abrams unloads - would the questions be "why was SWR left in" I think so.
  9. We don't need to see Lee in 2024. I don't know enough on Kiersey to provide input. Miranda/Martin/Wallner need to part of a package to spring life to the team. Just now sure what we would get. And you can add Kepler to that list to upgrade our return. I mean if Rocco is using his only against RH pitchers, he is a waste of an asset
  10. this is where Analytical driven thinking is ruining the game. Start your 9, use bench to rest players. Margot as your 3 hitter - WTF
  11. I would agree that arbitration numbers will inflate the cost, but won't get that value as a free agent. This might not be the last time he is traded.
  12. Julien may be the next to go as well...........with some depth, he may be intriguing for others for an SP
  13. Arreaz has a non-valued skill set in todays MLB. Put that in along with a below average defender and it was a great trade for MN. It will also help replenish the MIA farm system. His ability to get on base may play with SD as they have boppers to follow. I loved him, but was the most valuable piece we had and the FO did well in trading him.
  14. I think we go with Martin as the primary CF, and use Margot for a day off. Castro is too valuable all over the diamond.
  15. DL for Bux would bring Martin back up...............not really another option at AAA as Wallner is still not hitting.
  16. Wish it would have been Jackson. Maybe he slips through waivers.
  17. I was happy with how Martin performed, but I think the Twins will use this as a showcase and he will be packaged with Kepler soon for a backend of the rotation pitcher. This could change if SWR proves capable, but another starter depth would be good. The timing of this may well depend on how Wallner performs in AAA. If he gets hot, then I think the trade talks heat up. Varland should be in the pen for the remainder of his career. He will be a big leaguer if he accepts that, but I don't see him in a rotation.
  18. Who will be taken off the current roster when they come back. I heard on talk radio that Miranda may go down for Correa. I would prefer to release Margot as Martin has proven he can play the OF. Not sure what bullpen arms leave as Toppa will be ready soon as well. Thielbar, Bosman, Funderburk???
  19. It would be a 4 or 5 spot - but he is a FA at season end. With the youth arriving, I think Wallner would be his replacement if he starts making more contact. We need to sell as high as we can on Max as he won't be brought back
