  1. I would like to see a LH in the rotation and then can move to the BP for the post-season. Price for control will be a bit though and will have to entice Oakland. Would they take AK? Thinking that may not be enough straight up. Wallner? Julien seems a bit high and would be selling low.
  2. I completely agree, and now with him hurt his trade value isn't there.
  3. With Lewis and Martin likely out until September, Farmer is needed. Santana is a key cog. Margot, I can agree with.
  4. Sounds like Lewis and Martin may be out until the end of August - so may keep all of them with the Sept 1 extended rosters
  5. There will be no spot for him, if we want to keep the versatility of Martin and Lee..........He needs to get hot so we can package him with Kiriloff, who seems to be out of favor now and rightfully so, and possibly Festa for piece at the deadline
  6. I view the Mahle trade as being graded based on hindsight. The injury muddles it, and if that wouldn't have happened - I believe this would have been a B+ or better. Yes Steer and CES were part of it. Steer is an average MLB player, and CES is just below average. If they wouldn't have made the trade, then they would have been bashed for not being agressive as well. MLB trades tend to be wins or losses. Would we do the AJ to SF again. YES. Would we do the Araez for Pablo - YES. But noone would do the Brunansky for Herr again...............
  7. They did alter the DH for Shoehi to DH/P so he stays in the lineup when he is removed from the mound...........why not
  8. It would be awesome if one or both can make the comeback. I would love to see it, but I see one or both, along with Wallner heading elsewhere this winter
  9. Let's project. If Miranda is our everyday 1B next season, Then who is his backup? Assuming that Margot, Farmer, Santana and Kepler are all not back? If Santana can maintain what he is doing and the start was just poor, would anyone be up for signing him for this role and occasional DH? Would need to be at a discounted rate, but at 39 will he command anything more? I am not sure if AK will be an option but would make the most sense if he can right himself. Willi won't play there, so curious who others see in the backup role.
  10. I would love to see them use the day to trade Thielbar to another team for a low A prospect. Give him a shot to continue his career, and the Twins to remove him gracefully. Then move Varland to the pen permanently and with Stewart and Topa coming after the AS break, we could make up for short starts and save innings when possible
  11. I would disagree, to a point on them. If you take out the horrible early stats, they haven't been that bad recently. Santana is potentially a fringe All-Star right now. I think the depth value they bring, with unproven behind them is huge - we need a bigger sample from Lee and not sold on Wallner. The others can sit until September or an injury
  12. IF Henriquez if used for multiple innings in either of the first two games he will head back to SP for another bullpen arm or a spot starter
  13. I say no to adding either of them. The both would cost both dollars and significant capital. They both are in the twilight of their careers. As much as I want the Twins to take home a title, I don't believe a deal for either of them gets us there and the cost would be substantial. If you were to deal, who are you giving up? It is going to cost you most likely two or more of Julien, Larnach, AK, Wallner,Martin, Lee, SWR and giving up young pitching to get old pitching with our current roster to me just doesnt' make sense.
  14. Any trade the Twins make will most likely have Julien/AK as part of it.
  15. I am thinking from a roster construction point that one will not be back is all.........
  16. Very true - but we will not keep both him and Castro as we won't have both in 2025 and Martin may have more value as teams may view his upside as higher
  17. Plus - not sure about his locker room presence? Sounds like a Donaldson too me
  18. I am hoping Martin is here to improve his trade market and we include him with an OF in a deal for a RH middle of the order hitter
  19. That is a so very true, just thinking the asking price would most likely be him and not Varland.
  20. Or...............could they be looking at him to give a strong start and deal the more impressive SWR for Luzardo? I am hoping not, but Luzardo is an upgrade over either of them. Castillo going down was tough as he has been pretty good in the pen, so thinking Varland reverts to the BP after this spot start or goes down in 10 days for Castillo or another arm for the pen
