    I would say no to him. But I would hope the twins don't consider him a project like the broken down pitchers they pick up. He after all would only cost them 720,000 dollars. I would think that the problems would be to great. However I did see an article that listed some of the teams that might take him. And if they would win it all, would there be a lot of regrets?

    Go after Lopez with everything you've got. We have 15 starters from last year minus Bundy and Archer. We are going to lose to free agency at the end of the year. Why always hange on to players till most of there value is gone. We also have a gluten of infielders and corner outfield. Trade and get a number one starter.

    Buxton should be at the top of the list. Based on last year he would have , 40+ homers , 65+ extra base hits, 90 runs , almost 90 rbi's and plus 10 sb's. Not in the top 2 of mvp but not far behind.

    Trade arraez. Add in one or two minor leaguers. Not Martin , not lewis, not lee.twins could then swing another deal or two. With Kepler maybe another pitcher like winder or Richardson, and pagain. Bring back Fulmer. And with the other guys get someone good like another starter or bullpen guy. Or another good bat.

    I Know someone who could do that for the twins. But can we keep him healthy and play 140 games. Come on Buxton ! One great season before your bones fall off. And they sweep you off the field.

    I wouldn't spend a ton now. But think Hand , Fulmer and Smith would be good add ONS. Shouldn't take more than 22 million to sign the three. Leaving 20 plus million left over. Would either trade players asap. Like Kepler , pagain, maybe others. Or wait till trading deadline to see what might be available.

    Bull, the Kansas City team won the world series. With average starters. Good but not great fielding and hitting. The only way a small to mid market team will win again is if they get 4 or 5 bulldog relievers like the royals did. They give guys with confidence. And no ego. They did whatever that was asked . They covered several innings when needed. We are unwilling or unable to compete for the big players.

    I don't believe it's a good idea. He may be a better fielder than farmer. But farmer is clearly a better hitter. Plus farmer is younger. Also we don't need a ton of one year deals.

    I would rather see Kepler traded at the deadline. If possible with a minor league prospect to get something better than flexing . Besides I'm interested in how Kepler plays now that he's healthy and no shift will be used .

    I like one of the contributes to one these articles . He said we could trade either polanko or arreaz, and Martin and Richardson. For Lopez and there best minor league catcher. We also could use paddock or pagain as trade pieces. I have little faith in either. We can look for a trade of Kepler too. Last year at our highest total we were at 144 million. We are currently at 94 million. Could be 71 million if we trade these guys. Enough for Correa, Lopez, and maybe a half way good catcher.

    Ok it makes a lot more sense platooning two catchers who don't hit well for average. Ok they can handle the duties behind the plate. But we need to improve every position to have a club that can go further. We could have just paid Garver to come back. He at his best would provide good hitting. But this way we spend 4 or 5 million leaving room for a starter, relief pitcher, and Correa.

    Signing correa's great , but at a six year contract I heard it would be at least 32+ million. I know that's less than last year but it eats up a lot of money for players. A ten year contract better come with opt outs for the team. 10 years is a long time. It might be best to go 8 years I've heard about 29 million a year. They would save us 6 million a year , enough for a relief pitcher. But I do think overall he's good for the team.

    Remember this was his first full year in the majors. He should get even better with time. This is why many say we need a true ace . The problem with the rotation is not that they aren't good. It's we don't have that one guy to rely on in game one of the playoffs.

    I would be happy with half the games in the field. Another 40 games at dh. And healthy at years end.

    Twins need a true ace. I've been told that will take 25 million or more. If we are willing to give correa 35 million it should be no problem. We can not win playoff games without an ace.

    The twins have about 50 million to spend. Add to that Kepler's 8.5, Mahles 8.0 , paddocks 2.5. that's almost 70 million dollars. And that's if we only spend 140 million total. Let's see Judge at 43 , Rondon at 27 . That doesn't leave much for a backup catcher , unless. We spend a little more. What else do we desperately need? And tell me honestly that you wouldn't want to. Judge in a twins uniform. It gets really tiring going after broken down old vets when Pohlad has as much money as most of the owners. The twins need to put there money where there mouths are. Quit selling us a product that has no prayer of winning.

    I may be one of the only person who thinks we should go really big. Bring in Judge if possible . Our attendance was about 20000 a game. If we had him we would be a sellout almost every game. Gaining us 1 + million fans a season. If every fan spent 30 dollars or more on tickets, parking, food , drinks and merchandise. That would pay most of his salary. We wouldn't need Kepler, we could save money by trading Mahler and paddock. Judge would be a good fill in for Buxton when he's dh. If we could get Rondon we would be set.

    Don't think it's a deal. But I would do that one in a heartbeat.

    No matter the length of contract, the twins should offer an opt out after two years. Both for the team and player. We have so many shortstops almost ready that it seems to make sense.also we may need other positions in two years and not have enough money to spend.

    If he is healthy and has a good season. I would probably give him a 4 or 5 year deal. In the range of 14 to 15 million a year. Maybe a small signing bonus. They may think of having an opt out clause after two years to protect the team if he has injuries.

    I don't know who would pick him up. But it would be fun to see him at Colorado. He may but the ball over the fence.

    I wanted rodon last year. He would have helped . I was betting that he would have a bounce back year , and he did. If all the pitchers are basically healthy. They could win 75 games just from there starters. Another 20 to 25 games is common for a bullpen. That's 100 wins.

    If renfroe is so much better then Kepler, why would they trade him? Besides most of urshela's stats look as good or better. So we give them to great fielder for one player?

    I have an idea I'll try here. Trade Kepler, polanko, urshela. That and not resigning correa will get our spending to 65 million. If we truly spend 140 million. We would have enough money for rondon listed at 29million. Josh bell at 17million. Tommy Pham at about 7 million. A stopgap shortstop at about 7 million. A good bullpen arm at 6 million . That leaves us enough money to pay Murphy the catcher from Oakland if we can trade for him. The line up would be: 1st : bell. 2nd: arreaz short ingleis 3rd : miranda. Lf : pham. Cf : buxton. Rf : Walner or kirloff. C :. Murphy

    There are other players we can pay 16 million a year to. And they have not had serious injuries. Not too many good right fielders are available. But there are a few good left fielders.. Also why would we add another outfielder anyway? We have plenty that need to see time in the majors. Also we might look at trading for someone in a position of need. Like catcher or possibly short or first. I would personally like Josh Bell. But everyone will say I'm crazy. But he's 16 or 17 million a year. We have 60 plus million to spend depending on how many players we keep. From what I can see if we want a true ace, that will be about 20 million. Leaving us 5 or 6 for a RP. And then good bat like Bell and a catcher would be at about 20 to 25 million more . Leaving us enough for a second tier shortstop. The only way we have more money is to trade either kepler or Polanko or both.
