    If we keep him, we must fill a hole. Relief pitching. Probably two guys needed in the bullpen. From the looks of the division we would have a chance. It would cost good prospects. But some of those guys we have been talking about for a few years. And even when they have good springs we won't keep them on the major league team. If we wait to bring players up when they get to be almost thirty.we will be paying them out of the price zone for this teams management. And getting less productive years.

    Buxton is the best trade bait. But how much more money do we need to save . The only way Buxton leaves is if we lose both ryan and lopez.. If that's the case, we will spending of about 55 million. And our attendance will be 4 or 5 thousand a game. Think about that. You run the risk of permanently losing some fans. And you can never financially recover . Because these owners will never let loose with enough money to get the talent back in.

    I have an idea. Make the twins a triple A club for the dodgers or Yankees. When they want a player they can pay the pohlads for the players. That way they can keep there down.

    We shouldn't trade any of them. We are one great left handed hitter away from competing. You may think I'm crazy. But I think we will cheaply rebuild our bullpen. That will mean we get a hitter we need. And we won't be bad. If you look at it realistically,. If we would have kept our bullpen and had a healthy Lopez we probably would have won 13 more games. That would mean we would have been close. I realize I'm not running the twins. But I would spend about 140 million on the roster. That could get us a cheap backup catcher and two relievers. And leave enough to spend as much as twenty-five million on a big bat. Will the twins do that. Absolutely not.

    Are you crazy. He is almost an ace. Under team control and paid a low amount of money. We need to give things a year or two. That way we get full value from him. And have a chance to be competitive when the young kids come along.

    I hear a lot of wild ideas from people whom I'm glad don't run the twins. Yes Lopez could be traded. Twins should wait till trade deadline next year. They need to see if we are in the hunt for a playoff spot. If not we will have over half a season to show the league that Pablo has what it takes. His trade value will be huge at the deadline. I don't think teams will jump on his value at winter meetings. As for Ryan you have to be a little nuts to finally have him at a super high level. Then get rid of him in his prime. When we have years of control and he probably won't be paid more than 5 to 6 million a year. What ace pitcher is paid that low?

    remember we have possibly 3 maybe 4 players that could be traded. A total of 28 million in savings if done right. It may cost us prospects to get teams to pick up there full salaries. But trades could still happen.

    Only an ok option as a backup.. it won't matter in two years Buxton won't be a twin. We will have Jenkins starting in cf.

    Can't do any of the three. #1 doesn't allow for salary relief. We are at 137 million. Cease would add almost 14 million. #2 would lose 2 outfielders , we will be down 2 already from last year. Plus possibly Castro. #3 we would lose 2 starting infielders , plus again down kirloff and Castro. It would only work with a combination of major and minor leagues.

    Excellent job. This proves that the twins are one good started away from the best starting staff. A good left handed like a quintana would be enough. A lefty reliever and a first baseman and were set.

    Mikelink45 said it best in saying the twins let players go. They need to start using there prospects more wisely. If I were them ( and I'm not). I would let teams choose a player of need from prospects # 12 to # 30. And trade them with the the Casto's, Vasquez, and Paddocks. Then they won't have to pay any of there salaries. That saves them 24.3 million. They could trade for slightly better prospects in positions of need. They waste too much time on broken down players. Build your prospects up to compete. If I were to ask the question of any fan, will Buxton or Correa lead us to the world series? Most would say no. Will they both ever play 130 games in the same year? The answer would be no? It's too late in this upcoming off-season to do much about them now. We can free up enough money to get a quintana or someone of that caliber. We have to trade for a first baseman. We won't get much there. Then hope one of our stars has a great season. If they do trade them. Get what we can save the money. Then go shopping for better players in the off season.

    Question , if you resigned Santana, and he was the same as last year. And he turned out to be the worst hitter on the team with similar stats. Would the team have enough hitting? My point is Santana is steady. And almost over preformed his whole career. Get the other positions figured out, and we are ok.

    It's still a little bit of a money thing. So, we should , when we trade players to lower our spending, consider getting extra bonus pool money. That way we will have more than other teams. And it will signal that we are serious.. plus it's a good year for international prospects.

    I'm not willing to trade Lewis in his prime, , when we're not willing to do that with Buxton or Kepler a few years back. We got the most we could get out of there years. So trading Lewis this early when we aren't paying him a lot, makes no sense I worry about the second trade because we are losing Kepler and maybe Castro . Who will play outfield? So no to both.

    No. I've never seen so many nutty ideas on one site . Trade Ryan and then pick up a broken down pitcher that we will pay more for and get nothing. It was Ryans first time in the majors with a injury of an seriousness. Let's see what happens in spring. Also making Jax a starter is another idea floated around. He is our best relief pitcher . What if Duran goes down for the season. Let's see what we do in the trade market first. Then we can look at f.a.'s.

    No and no and hell no. He came off injury and had a so so year. Mark my words. He will be relief pitcher of the year next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lopez played all season. Our real problem is our c.f and s.s. 50 million between the two. Who would be our ace? We would spend more on starters then what he is being paid.

    Usually if you take a thousand words to explain why something should or could happen, you're trying to hard to convince people. That said , the simple answer is no!

    I wish we could trade him. But the only way to get a big haul would be to trade a good prospect with him. Or we could pay a portion of his salary. The Yankees and dodgers wont take him the way things are.. . So it's unlikely we could get any other team to take him.

    Where does he play . Too many outfielders. Next year he will be up. Or if we have more injuries.
