  1. Thanks Jeremy. Pretty nice to get your first 18 of 20 signed sealed and delivered, even sneaking a few HS players in there on day 3. And thanks Doc for a great post
  2. Well according to Twins Daily's own draft tracker, picks 1-18 are all signed. https://twinsdaily.com/minnesota-twins-draft-picks/2022/ MLBs draft tracker shows picks 1-3 are signed https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/2022/all/team/twins
  3. Certainly a possibility - they were the team I feared most coming into the season, not the Guardians. If they get going, game over.
  4. Interesting reading this thread. Was just looking over his career numbers on baseball reference: just 7 years ago he finished 3rd in the AL rookie of the year, albeit by a mile, to winner Carlos Correa, then Lindor. But after the anticipatory hype, he flashed 18 HR, 52 RBI, .916 OPS in a half season of work as a 22 year old, and it looked like superstardom was in the cards. All Star at 24, with 2 20+ homer seasons under his belt. A monster 26 year old season in 2019 with career high 34 homers, and a .923 OPS. Since then, bupkis. His whiffs create a breeze like the storied blower fans at the Metrodome. I watched this guy's career play out - I couldn't have been higher on a prospect in 2015. Let's just say, it hasn't worked out as expected.
  5. Division titles have some small merit, as do playoff appearances. So hell no. CC has been a treat to watch as a Twin. Why throw the chance at the post season away, or months of watching this guy as our shortstop? Assets are great, but all CC cost was money. I hope he decides to stay another year. They could be a hot streak away from a World Series.
  6. Thanks Ted, these have been fun to read.
  7. Sounds like a student of the game, and willing to dive into data on opposing pitchers. I hope that approach continues to serve him well.
  8. Yeah, but we drafted one - draft DNA is strong.
  9. Somewhat toolsy HS outfielder coming in at 20, and the draft is complete.
  10. For those wanting a catcher, Nate Baez of Arizona State is still available.
  11. Any relation to Willy Joe Gary?
  12. Good hitting SS and high level LHP are usually near the top of my wants, along with the toolsy CF. Much more exciting than slow 1B power hitter types, or utility 2b guys that are well-rounded but masters of nothing. We've seen our share.
  13. This is a great pick. TJ doesn't mean much anymore in terms of before/after.
  14. Would someone kindly explain what the heck a competitive balance pick is and how they are awarded?
  15. So a slow old shortstop and a pitcher who blew his arm out. Keep em coming Twins.
  16. The Twins got a near consensus top 5 guy at 8: gotta like that, even for an old guy. ?
  17. Wallner is awesome - I shared this story a year ago but I sat next to his grandma at a game in Cedar Rapids. Her expectations were that he would succeed, and dang it grandma, you got it right. Nice lady.
  18. Miranda looks better and better - last 30 games: .315 BA, 4 HR, 16 RBI, .877 OPS. Just turned 24 last month, and he looks to be getting what MLB is all about. Very excited for his future.
  19. Frankly, I had completely forgotten about Maeda - thanks for the reminder!
  20. Anyone else think Julien could be a Twin someday? Like the speed, and throw in some power, and what look to be pretty sure hands in the field....
  21. Glad to Yunior Severino back in action. Good prospect. He was placed on the 7 day injured list April 12. Man that was a long week!
  22. I like that the Twins are finding good looking arms outside of Round 1.
  23. There appear to be a couple of catchers who can hit in the system. Jair Camargo from Colombia has a .314 BA, 6 HR, .862 OPS, and is but 22 and playing high A ball at Cedar Rapids. Alex Isola, Twins 29th rounder in 2019 is sporting a .303 BA, 5 HR and an .873 OPS, a 23 year old in AA at Wichita. I know nothing of their catching abilities, although Camargo has thrown out 35% of attempted steals.
  24. I had never watched Gray pitch until tonight. Is that a little Jimmy Connors grunt I'm hearing when he throws? I like his approach. That breaking ball is wicked.
