  1. If none of Balazovic, Duran, Canterino, Enlow, or Sands pan out, I quit!
  2. Man, some sad batting averages in Fort Myers: Urbina: 194 Sabato: 188 Holland: 171 Garry Jr: 171 OTOH Julien looks amazing: .315 BA, .985 OPS, 16 steals. was he not a guy who dropped and the Twins took a flier on him and managed to sign him?
  3. Gotta work in a Twins Saints DH this summer. Best baseball situation in the Cites since the Saints-Millers days: much better actually.
  4. I expect to be down there in early June. Pretty excited that they are high A now. Lots of interesting prospects to boot.
  5. I give credit to Detroit - pretty unlikely grab, 22 year old guy coming off TJ, hit .243 in low A, .214 in High A as a 20 year old. As a 2nd rounder, the Twins probably should have protected him, but again, he must have been high on the Tiger's list in 2016. Good on them.
  6. If only Colome had gone to 1st in game 1....
  7. Cave + Garlick << Rosario. Swagger factor takes a big hit there.
  8. And Aaron Judge lasted to supplemental pick 32 in 2013, i.e. everyone could have had him. Looking back at drafts and woulda coulda is an exercise in futility, for baseball, hockey, baskets, etc. Hey, we got Hrbek in the 17th round. It all balances out.
  9. Catcher-cam needs to be an occasional part of MLB broadcasts. Dayum, some of those pitches were downright scary.
  10. Rod Carew didn't lift the ball much either. Sometimes these analysts get so hung up on a single facet.
  11. Most HRs in a season by a 2nd baseman in the AL: 40 in 2016, Brian Dozier.
  12. This guy always brought smiles wherever he went.
  13. Sometimes, having a sub-par major league roster is a boon for prospects like Balazovic, or Larnach. They are able to come up young and learn on the job. Early results are often ugly, but in the end, thiose hard knocks pay long term dividends. Look at guy like Radke: came up at 22, got slugged around his first 2 seasons, but not horribly. Finished 3rd for Cy his 3rd year. Not that I want to back to losing baseball, far from it, but it has to be rough for near-ready prospects to bide their time.
  14. Most impoortantly, he has a great smile: http://www.milb.com/images/683764/generic/180x270/683764.jpg
  15. Randballs Stu and Willians. People get bent outta shape. That is the definition of tone deaf.
  16. Interesting to see Fort Myers and Cedar Rapids flip-flop. Happy to see Quad-Cities made the cut. Thought they were done. One of my favorite minor league parks.
  17. Awesome write-up Seth. I remember Glenn well.
  18. The guy is a ballplayer's ballplayer, and LA Vikes fan, he can hit: all zones all fields.
  19. I continue to marvel at how this front-office operates. Smart and efficient are the keywords.
  20. Bout time. Cruz gives the whole lineup a little swagger. Hope to see him wear that robe again.
  21. Twins should follow their own plan, not that of another team.
  22. Baddoo article in the Detroit Free Press: https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2020/12/18/detroit-tiges-rule-5-draft-akil-baddoo/3948818001/
