    I stopped posting here, and I'll tell ya why. Casual fan, don't live and die by the Twins. Like the prospect talk. There are some people here who are fun and are fun to discuss baseball with, especially those appreciative of musically historical neighborhoods. OTOH, there is way to much rank and rating going on here. If I post an opinion and get shredded with downvotes by caretakers, community leaders, and old-times members, well, it doesn't make ya feel welcome does it? It has the stale stench of a good old boys network.

    pish posh In 1892 Cy Young threw 453 innings, had a 1.93 ERA, went 36-12, threw 48 complete games and 9 shutouts, As a 25 year old. For the Cleveland Spiders of the NL.

    Micro-analyzing the game can lead to mental illness. Wins and losses, Good batting averages, home run and rbi numbers, ERA and innings pitched, wish the Twins would use these metrics.

    Must be hard for Ryan and Baldelli, being right across the bay from Dead and Company's final 3 shows, as they play baseball.

    There will be some undrafted college seniors that can be signed to catch the lower minors, or other guys that get cut loose.

    Bad guys don't go down well here. Josh Donaldson was in and out. Like the arm more than the man.

    Just looked at the team stats on MLB tonight. 1st in ERA - 3.59 1st in WHIP - 1.16 2nd in Ks after CWS - 825 2nd fewest hits allowed after TB - 661 Granted these aren't just the starters providing these numbers, but still: Gray, Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Maeda. Talk about giving your team a chance to win. If only they'd had these guys AND the Bomba Squad.... Edit: also 1st in FIP and ERA+

    Rocco sounded pretty exasperated after the Braves series. Like to see players take responsibility.

    This team needs to scrap to win. The 2023 Twins are truly a day at a time team. Not bored by this at all.

    Cory Lewis is putting up some eye-popping numbers in first year as a pro: 72 Ks in 49 IP, opponents hitting just .174 against him.

    Was at the Kernels game. Willy Joe Garry did stuff that doesn't show up on the scoresheet. He got picked off before he scored his first run, but did some moves and beat the throw to second. Came home on the double. He scored on a sac fly that was basically a shallow pop to center. He was flying all over the field, and played a perfect CF. Boy, if he could just get the hitting going consistently. His base hits were hard hit balls up the middle. BTW, that Hidalgo was able to get out his 1st inning mess with just 2 runs was an amazing scramble. Walking the first 4 batters of the game plus one more later is an unusual feat.

    Last I saw was the Twins getting a new Max. The top 5 are all standouts: what luck.

    No reason to take him out of the rotation now. Mahle and Meida are broken. Ober is in his prime.

    The White Sox are the worst performing team compared to payroll in MLB: .276 winning % for the 14th highest payroll. . Only Colorado and SF come close. This is especially notable when looking 3 of the 4 bottom payrolls, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Seems like every year however, the Twins bring some dormant team to life. Hopefully this isn't the time.

    Kind of surprised (and happy) to find out that the Twins have 4 more years of control on Joe Ryan after this season. His career line so far reads like a season of a Cy Young contender: 20-9 3.50 ERA 205.2 IP 153 hits allowed 217 K 56 BB etc.
