  1. I've never shopped at Dior. Am I safe in assuming it's just a bunch of overpriced crap?
  2. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/twins-to-select-andrew-stevenson.html More details from MLB Trade Rumors. Brent Headrick takes the other expansion slot and Miranda moves to 60-day IL to accommodate Stevenson on the 40 man. The only thing I can think of is maybe this is only temporary until Buxton/Kirilloff/Castro are ready, and they don't mind running Stevenson through waivers after a couple days.
  3. Agreed. It's odd to say the least. I assume one of the two expansion slots will be a pitcher, plus they have to presumably add Kirilloff, Buxton, and Castro. Also, Stevenson is left handed.
  4. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/twins-to-select-andrew-stevenson.html MLB Trade Rumors (via Do Hyoung-Park of MLB.com) are reporting Andrew Stevenson is being selected. I know he's had a great year, but this seems odd given the guys they presumably have returning to the MLB roster. Something must be up......
  5. Of course, you could also ask why the Twins front office signed Donaldson in the first place.
  6. No way should this happen. Of course, the Twins FO doesn't seem to shy away from players with questionable medicals, which is probably why he will sign a record contract with the Twins.
  7. Maybe Jeffers showed attitude after getting hit because no one likes to get hit by a 90 mph fastball.
  8. If memory serves me, the Twins gave up a PTBNL for Boone. I don't think anyone was ever named. Do we still owe the Mariners a player, or do they owe the Twins?
  9. Julien has been a revelation, but let's not jump the gun. Once the calendar turned to August his bat cooled off. His overall K rate is also troubling. The league may be figuring him out. The question is, can he make the necessary adjustments? Remember last year when everyone was wondering how they were going to accommodate Miranda? The situation will sort itself out. There will be injuries and performance issues.
  10. Was listening to the game on MLB Radio with the Phillies broadcast team. The way they described it, you'd think that 3-2 pitch to Bohm was about a foot inside. I later saw the replay and laughed when I saw how close it was. Could it have justifiably been called a ball???…...sure. But it was close.
  11. Is it just me, or does his swing remind anyone else of Joe Mauer. Quick hands....waits as long as possible. Mauer never seemed willing to change to unlock the power. That worked ok for him.
  12. Can Julien play first? That way Polanco can move back to second once Lewis is back. Joey Gallo has a had a decent career. He has achieved things that most of us can only dream about, but it is seriously in the best interest of the Twins to move on. He has become a black hole in the lineup. I mean c'mon.....
  13. I hope the Twins win again today (Saturday). Sunday is Gallen vs. Keuchel. Just sayin ...
  14. Terry Ryan didn't have nearly the payroll that Falvey has. Yet the results have been about the same. I don't have any confidence in this regime. Some of the moves have been infuriating (Berrios) and others downright baffling (Gallo). They continue to try and build a bullpen on the fly, even though history shows it just doesn't work. Every large contract has blown up in their faces.
  15. I suspect Gallo will be gone sooner rather than later. This can't continue.....can it?
  16. I was hoping for some bullpen help.... nothing yet. Maybe the prices were too high.
  17. I agree 100 percent with everything in this article.
  18. No way would the Twins get a top 100 prospect for Maeda. Civale still has 2.5 years of team control. Maeda would be a rental who is still working back from TJ surgery.
  19. No. Cleveland is handing the Twins the division. (Whether the Twins take it or not is another question.) It's been an incredibly frustrating season, but the fact remains they are in first place. If the Twins make the playoffs they will need Gray and Maeda. Pitching and defense can go a long way in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe Correa and Buxton finally catch fire. Better late than never.
  20. If I'm the Twins I'd just roll with what they have. If they can't win the division with the current roster they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. If they can get a bullpen piece for cheap, then fine, but they have so many question marks that there's no point in emptying the farm of whatever prospects they have left.
  21. Having Hader in a Twins uniform would be awesome, but as others have pointed out.... is he the final missing piece? I think most of us would say: "no". I definitely wouldn't give up Raya and Headrick for a rental. Maybe if they had a plethora of good pitching prospects, but they don't.
