  1. If you click on the link for Carlos Silva it takes you to THAT Carlos Silva.
  2. It's only a minors deal, so I guess there's no harm, but I don't see him contributing in any way down the stretch.
  3. I was at the dome one night when he threw a complete game shutout of the White Sox. When he was on, he could deal.
  4. Lots of talk about Baldelli and I generally agree with all of it, but I put more blame on Falvey. He assembled this trainwreck. If this organization was able to develop pitching they wouldn't be forced into making trades. The Correa signing was ill advised. Many of us fans said so at the time and it's looking worse. Maybe he can still turn it around.
  5. In terms of bang for the buck, a short-term rental reliever would make the most impact. It's become clear they are going to be involved in a lot of close games. A decent 7th or 8th inning guy could help add a couple wins down the stretch. As the article points out, there won't be a lot of high impact bats available. Also, the Twins don't have a lot of trade chips.
  6. I wouldn't move on from Julien yet. Polanco is not guaranteed to be back next year. Even if Julien takes on a super-utility role like Arraez, there's value in that.
  7. Agree 100 percent on Kepler. When you have a lineup that struggles to score runs, it's hard to hide him. Decisions will have to be made. You can also add Pagan to "decision time". Although many of us would argue that decision should have been made at the end of last season.
  8. Every season will have losses like this. It's just especially frustrating because this team has let so many winnable games slip through their fingers.
  9. Duran in the ninth. He was not used yesterday, they have an off day tomorrow.
  10. Why not Lopez? Sure he pitched an inning yesterday, but it was the only time he pitched all week.
  11. Sloppy defense and Pagan....what more needs to be said.
  12. The Twins beat themselves once again. They've given away so many games.
  13. You could see it happen the moment he took the mound.
  14. Why is he still on this team? Explain it to me. Why not Lopez?
  15. Good article, but let's not make him out to be more than he is. Throw out 2021 and he's been a rather mediocre pitcher. If he's willing to take a Paddack type deal, fine. Otherwise, let's move on.
  16. Klein: 11 K's in four innings?! Do we have any Osseo folks on this board that know anything about him? Is he legit?
  17. Maybe the appearance of Royce Lewis will motivate Correa to get it together.
  18. That quote is from Star Trek: The Motion Picture.....after Spock mind melds with Vegur and discovers the emptiness it's feeling inside.
  19. For all the talk about his spin rates and "stuff", Pagan has no idea where the ball is going once it leaves his hand.
  20. Winning is so much more fun than losing.
  21. The Cruz-Ryan trade has worked out well for the Twins, but how much of that was luck? For the best trade I gotta go with Sonny Gray for Chase Petty. Any time you can get two years of a solid mid to top rotation starter for a #10 prospect, you do it. For worst, I'm going with Ryan Pressley. It was a dumb trade at the time and has only gotten worse with age. They threw in the towel on the season and gave up a quality arm that they still had under team control for another season. Alcala and Celestino were not top prospects.
  22. Yennier Cano has yet to give up a run for the Orioles. You gotta wonder if there's a problem with pitching from an organizational standpoint. Did Cano make adjustments on his own, or did the Orioles see something.
