  1. They needed a better start from Ober. He was up in the zone the entire time he was pitching. He has to utilize the entire strike zone.
  2. A tough task ahead, but it's the playoffs. There are no easy series left.
  3. I don't think Paddock has shown enough to be on the playoffs roster. He showed some encouraging signs yesterday, but he did give up three runs to a really bad lineup. Also, do the Twins want to risk him overdoing it just coming off elbow surgery? He's a part of their plans going forward. Why risk it if he hasn't proven he can be a difference maker at this point in the season.
  4. At this point there's really no reason to play Correa these last two weeks. Let him sit and hope his foot improves at least somewhat by October.
  5. Odd that it's Luplow and not Stevenson.
  6. I like Arraez, and I think the Twins have missed him, but it's a trade they almost had to make. I thought the comment in the article from Mr. Sussman about how the Marlins have more success developing pitching than hitting is interesting. The Twins organization is the exact opposite. If Balazovic, Woods-Richardson, Dobnak,,,etc,,, had been knocking on the door this year, or if Paddock hadn't had TJ surgery, then maybe the Twins don't have to make that trade. The trade became even more necessary when you consider both Gray and Maeda are pending free agents.
  7. It's interesting how many comments this generated in less than two days.
  8. That series still breaks my heart. We had em on the ropes and then it all went to hell.
  9. Other than Lopez and Ryan, every pitcher on that list has question marks. If the Twins have such great pitching depth, then why was Dallas Keuchel starting today? They need to replace Sonny Gray (maybe with Gray), and that won't be cheap in terms of dollars or trade capital. And I agree with some of the other posts that say it would take a lot more than Larnach to land a quality pitcher. It's gonna hurt.
  10. Can we please end the Keuchel experiment? It's been a heartwarming story, and he's had some good moments, but he shouldn't be starting for a team that's trying to make it to the post-season. Ober is the better pitcher.
  11. The Twins will need to acquire a starter in the off-season, and maybe that involves trading some of the younger guys. As of now, it would make sense for the Twins to pick up the options for both Kepler and Polanco, and that doesn't leave enough spots for all of the younger guys to get regular playing time.
  12. I'm not a member of the Rocco fan club, but I thought his decision to let Gray work out of that jam in the 6th was the turning point. Gray showed a real fighters mentality and that the Twins were gonna battle to the end no matter what.
  13. They might really win this division. Holy crap!
  14. Is something wrong with Duran? You go for the knockout punch.
  15. I concur. I understand him not wanting to burn up his bullpen, but don't they have at least one long -guy they could have run out there to get through at least a couple more innings? MLB needs to revisit this issue. Maybe allow a team to forfeit under certain circumstances. Fans don't want to watch it, and you don't want any players getting hurt for no reason.
  16. 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but lots of missed chances today.
  17. I've never shopped at Dior. Am I safe in assuming it's just a bunch of overpriced crap?
  18. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/twins-to-select-andrew-stevenson.html More details from MLB Trade Rumors. Brent Headrick takes the other expansion slot and Miranda moves to 60-day IL to accommodate Stevenson on the 40 man. The only thing I can think of is maybe this is only temporary until Buxton/Kirilloff/Castro are ready, and they don't mind running Stevenson through waivers after a couple days.
  19. Agreed. It's odd to say the least. I assume one of the two expansion slots will be a pitcher, plus they have to presumably add Kirilloff, Buxton, and Castro. Also, Stevenson is left handed.
  20. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/09/twins-to-select-andrew-stevenson.html MLB Trade Rumors (via Do Hyoung-Park of MLB.com) are reporting Andrew Stevenson is being selected. I know he's had a great year, but this seems odd given the guys they presumably have returning to the MLB roster. Something must be up......
  21. Of course, you could also ask why the Twins front office signed Donaldson in the first place.
  22. No way should this happen. Of course, the Twins FO doesn't seem to shy away from players with questionable medicals, which is probably why he will sign a record contract with the Twins.
  23. Maybe Jeffers showed attitude after getting hit because no one likes to get hit by a 90 mph fastball.
  24. If memory serves me, the Twins gave up a PTBNL for Boone. I don't think anyone was ever named. Do we still owe the Mariners a player, or do they owe the Twins?
