  1. I wonder if it's more to do with the type of pitchers they target. They seem to prefer hard throwers that throw lots of sliders.
  2. I wasn't blaming anyone for anything. Call it just really bad luck if you want, but this organization just can't seem to catch a break. This certainly has the potential to change the outlook from that trade. It seems like every move they make turns to ash.
  3. You can't pretend that there's no difference between an oblique strain (Duran) and elbow inflammation (Abel). One is a stint on the DL and the other has potentially career altering implications.
  4. Of course he's hurt. It's the Twins. Yet another trade that blows up in their faces. Unbelievable.
  5. 100 percent agree. He was unable to locate his breaking pitches and the Reds were just sitting on his fastball, which he inevitably had to throw because he was always behind in the count.
  6. " In Sunday's series finale, manager Derek Shelton tried to get a two-inning save from rookie Andrew Morris, who went to pieces in the second of those frames, giving up three runs to flip the score in the top of the ninth." No. Morris went to pieces in both of those two innings. He was not fooling anybody and labored to get through the eighth. The big question is why did Shelton send him out there to pitch the ninth with the game on the line? It took him 47 pitches, of which only 27 were strikes, to record a grand total of four outs.
  7. Two unearned runs today. That may be the difference.
  8. C'mon Buck. Salvage something from this weekend.
  9. This series has highlighted every one of their weaknesses. Inability to capitalize on offense, poor defense, and a questionable bullpen.
  10. A pithing change? Why now? Morris threw almost 30 pitches in the 8th. Why was he even out there to start the 9th?
  11. This has to be one of the saddest headlines in the history of Twins Daily.
  12. I'm sure it's a well written article, as is usually the case with Cody Christie, but I stopped at "Jim Bowden".
  13. The decisions regarding Jeffers will be difficult... Ryan not so much. He's still under control through next year. They have the luxury of a couple more decision points with him.
  14. I feel bad for Laweryson. His career was just starting to get a little traction. "Right forearm strain" can sometimes be indicative of bad things to come. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
  15. Bradley set the tone. The bullpen made it more exciting than it needed to be, but they didn't break. Nice win.
  16. Abel hadn't pitched in almost a week. They only have five games in the span of eight days, which means he will likely be skipped in the rotation. The man needs to pitch.
  17. I think it was just to get him work. They don't really need five starters these first couple weeks with all the days off.
  18. There was plenty of blame to go around for this one, but Ober's performance has to be the most concerning. Given his decreased velocity and poor results last year, how much leash should he have? One could argue Matthews is a better option, but then what do you do with Ober?
