    I'm sure it's a well written article, as is usually the case with Cody Christie, but I stopped at "Jim Bowden".

    The decisions regarding Jeffers will be difficult... Ryan not so much. He's still under control through next year. They have the luxury of a couple more decision points with him.

    I feel bad for Laweryson. His career was just starting to get a little traction. "Right forearm strain" can sometimes be indicative of bad things to come. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

    Bradley set the tone. The bullpen made it more exciting than it needed to be, but they didn't break. Nice win.

    Abel hadn't pitched in almost a week. They only have five games in the span of eight days, which means he will likely be skipped in the rotation. The man needs to pitch.

    I think it was just to get him work. They don't really need five starters these first couple weeks with all the days off.

    There was plenty of blame to go around for this one, but Ober's performance has to be the most concerning. Given his decreased velocity and poor results last year, how much leash should he have? One could argue Matthews is a better option, but then what do you do with Ober?

    The more things change, the more they stay the same. Another one gets away. It's sad that the roster is built in such a way that one swing could tie or take the lead, but they have to roll with James Outman.

    For you people complaining about the lack of clutch hitting....where have you been the last two years? This is just any given Sunday in Twinsland. Their three-outcomes approach repeatedly bites them in the ass.

    More poor execut To an extent you can forgive youth and inexperience, but what we have seen over the last couple years is poor execution and dumb mistakes across the board, including veterans.

    Challenges be damned, the ump missed that strike from Abel. It wasn't close.

    A pitchers pitch, but Wallner had to know it was a strike. The mistakes in this game keep piling up.

    Ober is starting to remind me of Mike Smithson. Big tall junkballer. At least Smithson got results.

    Apart from Funderburk, all those guys have low ceilings. A best case scenario is that the pen is "ok".

    I think rankings especially misfire when it comes to pitching. There are too many guys ranked solely on pitch speed and movement. They always come with a caveat that goes something like..."if he can refine his control the sky is the limit." Guess what, this almost never happens.

    Agreed. And it's usually only one or two people in the media that create the rankings. The rest just copy them to fill column space and to avoid looking stupid. Rankings are almost useless. Sure, you get someone like Joe Mauer who meets expectations, but then you get guys like Luis Arraez who was on no ones list.
