  1. They have looked unprepared all year, so no change.
  2. It would be fitting way to go complete the circle of the Falvey era.
  3. Agreed. I didn't have a problem with trading most of those guys. I certainly didn't like the return we got for some of them, but at least you can justify the move in your head. Even Duran. I hate the trade and hate the return, but if the goal was to save money, at least that's a reason. But Varland, Stewart, and to some degree Jax? Why??? Varland and Stewart aren't making that much and they were essentially given away for nothing. Varland isn't even arbitration eligible. Was this done purely out of spite?
  4. There absolutely was a plan. It was to maximize the Pohlads profit on the sale of the Twins. Did they need to give away Varland and Stewart? How many nickels did that save?
  5. I never understood why the Twins gave up on Littell. He was actually decent for them.
  6. They probably had to take him and whatever he was owed to complete the deal. Wouldn't shock me if Toronto puts him on waivers.
  7. MLB needs to step in and force a sale. This is not good for baseball.
  8. I wonder if Falvey will even hold a presser. He's gonna have to answer a lot of questions that he doesn't have answers for.
  9. Pohlads final middle finger to the fans.
  10. I think Twins fans are begging to trade Vasquez and France. They have zero value.
  11. Why Outman? He's out of options next season. This could very realistically be Stewart for nothing. Why??? Granted he's not going to fetch a top tier prospect, but he's been very effective when healthy. This makes no sense.
  12. https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/twins MLB.com has updated Twins prospect rankings: #4 Tait, #6 Abel, #18 Mendez
  13. I should say he WAS ranked #12. Looks like MLB took him off he Phillies list and moved him to #18 on the Twins.
  14. I doubt they are avoiding arbitration. Stewart would not have gotten that much. I would hope it's actually a somewhat decent prospect (someone at least in the 10-20 of a teams prospect rankings). When Stewart has been healthy, he's been really good, and he is under team control. His injuries are what would prevent him from netting a top tier prospects.
  15. Mendez is interesting. MLB has him ranked #12 in the Phillies system. He's having a good year at AA as a 21 year old. https://www.mlb.com/milb/prospects/phillies/hendry-mendez-694230 It's about what I expected the Twins would get. I don't love it, I don' hate it.
  16. If you believe WAR is worth approximately $8 million, and Correa can reasonably be expected to put up 3 WAR per season, that makes his value approximately $25 million per year. I know some people hate this method, and I understand the arguments for and against. My point is, I think you can make a strong case that he's worth much more than what the Astros apparently value him at. I understand the Twins would have to eat part of the contract, but $50 million, no way.
  17. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/astros-rumors-carlos-correa-trade-twins-nolan-arenado-cardinals.html To summarize, Nightengale reported that the Astros wanted the Twins to contribute $50 million plus an outfielder.... Ummmm......No.
  18. I'm assuming the Urias deal means the Astros have moved on. I'm not opposed to trading Correa, but I don't see it happening. He certainly has not played up to his contract, but he still has value, and I think determining what that value is and who pays how much makes a deal difficult.
  19. Recent memory? July 2, 2011. He ruined my summer. I remember it as if it was yesterday.
  20. It's even worse.... Chapman was only a RENTAL who then resigned with the Yankees in the off-season.
  21. No matter how bad the trade the Derek Falvey amen corner will always rush to his defense.
  22. Am I angry, yes. Am I shocked, no. This front office has shown us time and time again that they won't pay relievers. Three years from now we'll view this trade the same way we view the Pressley trade. Yet another lousy day to be a Twins fan. Thank you Mr. Falvey!
  23. Especially since they won't have to add him to the 40-man for awhile.
