    I've been a Twins fan for over several decades. There's been good years and more than a few bad ones. I don't remember a season hurting as much as this one. They finished on a high note last year and things were looking up. Despite the payroll cut, they were decent through the first 2/3 of the season, and I was optimistic they could make a playoff run given the mediocre state of the AL. And then the bottom just completely fell out. Baseball can be a brutal game. I'm concerned it will take the organization years to wipe the stink away.

    Even with a healthy Joe Ryan the Twins only have three proven starters. If they move Lopez they'd essentially be raising the white flag before the season even starts (see White Sox). I think this is a very unlikely scenario.

    For some of the younger guys it needs to be made clear that they are not guaranteed a spot on the MLB roster when spring training begins.

    I will say that when I first saw it come off the bat it had such a strange trajectory that I thought it had bounced off the plate. Then he threw to second. I had no idea what was going on.

    The only thing I can think of is maybe he thought it was going to get past Bride and so he wanted be ready to break to 3rd. I don't know......I'm just grasping at straws......it was ugly.

    My sympathies to Mr Stohs for drawing the short straw and having to write the postscript for last night's game. While he is a gifted writer, no words can convey just how ugly that loss was.

    How does one even go about removing the stink of this season? Firing Rocco won't be enough.

    2 for 17 with runners in scoring position. That has to be approaching some kind of record.

    What happened to this team? They were legit playoff contenders for the first three quarters of the season. This isn't even a major league team anymore.

    He reminds me a lot of Nick Punto. A solid utility guy and late inning replacement, but not someone who should be in the lineup every day. To be fair, he's only gotten as many at-bats as he had because of injuries and poor performers.

    They should, but they won't. If the fans were booing it would mean they still cared.

    Castro needs to at least knock that down.

    Not just his season, but also his job. He will be a free agent after the season. You would think he'd want to showcase himself a bit.

    Are any of you at the game? Are any fans booing or is it complete apathy?

    Try and win at least one more in Boston and then back to Target Field and the Marlins. They can still do this.
